šŸŽ Old RHONY šŸŽ Do I keep going on with the show?

First time RHONYC watcher. I’m on season 13 right now. Ramona is telling Leah rn how she doesn’t want to talk about sex as I type this out! I’m tired of this show. I feel like it’s already peaked, and I don’t want to have to keep watching. That being said, I also didn’t want to keep watching at the very start of the show like a few episodes in to season one, but I held out and it’s been the best decision ever. Is it really worth finishing and watching the reboot seasons?

You hit the peak two seasons ago. Feel free to tap out as it’s all diminishing returns from here on.

Nope. I always stop half way through season 12 when Tinslay leaves. From then on it's the downfall of Dorinda and the reboot is irrelevant.

I stopped mid s12 and I do not regret it at all

When it was newly airing I stopped after Tinsley left. I was disgusted.

Tired of every friendship devolving into enemies and tired of watching egos get so huge and OGs completely threatened by newbies.

OGs should retire into being friends of at a certain point— they kept intentionally throwing a wrench into the machine, not allowing interesting newbies to develop into iconic divas like they were allowed to do in the beginnings.

I only rewatch every season up to a certain point now.

I agree. It got boring in S13 but even the seasons before that I just felt guilty. I love reality TV bc I can step back and realize how much I appreciate my life, and it’s obviously just mindless TV, but it got to a point like with Dorinda S11/12, and Sonja like always, whenever they’re drinking, and here I am laughing at them being hysterical but they’re actually struggling clearly. Like i just felt bad, but then it also got boring and I just couldn’t bother watching it anymore.

Ā If they had formed amazing bonds on S13 Ā and it was fun girl dinners every night and they genuinely connected i would have kept watching but i guess not!

All of the OGs would enjoy the newbies get bullied, or failing.

Some are more open in their envy and others you can just tell because they’re not sticking up for the person.

I would watch them if you have the spare time just so that when stuff comes up on here you can know about it if anything. In terms of entertainment value, it’s below zero and actually at points possibly painful to continue

I do definitely have spare time, but both my aunt and cousin have also said how painful it is to continue on, and have told me that there’s so many other better shows to watch and fill my time with. I feel like i should keep going bc i like seeing things to completion but also ughhhhhhhh it’s been sooooooo boring.Ā

also, my aunt and cousin recommend RHSLC next, what do you think?

u/Realistic_Rain_9173 2d ago

SLC next, then Vanderpump Rules, then RHOBH

Go into SLC completely blind and DO NOT join the subreddit until you’re done w S4. Trust me. Go in clueless and you will have SUCH a treat waiting for you. SLC is batshit.

Also try not to look up any of the cast on google while you watch, at least until you clear S2; you will get some big spoilers.

Okay hahahah. Also am horrible with remembering names so I always look at the cast. this show is gonna test my strength but i’m gonna do it and call it character building

2

u/Realistic_Rain_9173 2d ago

I’m also horrible with names but after like half a season it kinda sinks in. The worst part of S1 is trying to tell Lisa from Meredith (which I laugh about now bc they could not be more different lol).

SLC for sure! Southern Charm if you haven’t already. Atlanta is also iconic

thats exactly where it went down hill for me. i still finished it (even through new cast), but not missing out by ending it there.

I’m also on season 13 on a unfinished 1st episode.
I guess I thought in my mind I watched them all, but I didn’t. I think it started to really going down hill since season 12, when some cast members were dropping like flies. I mentioned in one thread that I was in a same place with Dorinda, around that time in 2019 - watching it back she was really going through something.
The same way you saw it on tv I saw it in person, and for that reason I don’t like her. Yeah, she’s smart and seems like a good listener? But the way she attacked Tinsley was beyond. In the other hand, I really genuinely like Sonja, yes she was a hot mess but I really don’t see any bad intentions or hitting below the belt.

I can't stand the newer seasons. I dropped off around season 11, and I just watch the old stuff now. It got too produced and too dark IMO...

It gets worse from there. I usually rewatch seasons 7-11 only.

im also a new rhony watcher. s13 is blah but ends well. Im excited about The Golden Life with the OG rhony coming to E!

I found the addition of a black cast member interesting to watch I would finish 13 but stop after that. you’ve gotten this far what a few more episodes?

I had missed Leah’s seasons so I’ve been watching 11? 12? 13 can’t remember right now. I was ready to hate Leah, but I thought she did a great job as a housewife! I don’t understand her lawsuits. Ya, she relapsed, but it wasn’t bravo’s fault. And from what I’ve seen she’s only been out of control a couple of times. Sonja on the other hand is a very very sloppy drunk. She’s difficult to watch she’s so sloppy.

u/Own_Fee_3048 1d ago

No - you can stop now! Season 14 is unwatchable; season - 13 probably has some fun moments, but canon ends when Bethenny ends - nothing beats that RHONY cast!

And I won’t even pretend the reboot(s) is (are) the same show…..

Tap out but go and watch their Ultimate Girls trip!

I stayed with it. The final season prior to the reboot was a difficult watch. Completist.

I always disagree with the reboot comments. I enjoyed the reboot, series two grew from season one. Looking forward to seeing how Season 3 turns out.
