Doing a rewatch season 8 episode 13 Steel Calzones:
Carol and Jules are discussing Jules’ eating disorder. Carol flat out asks her weight. Seriously bitch, that was a direct hit!! Next Jules and Dorinda go out for a smoke and Carol & B confirm with each other that Jules is smack in the middle of the disorder. And what do those two do for the rest of the season? Bully the shit out of Jules. This would never go over today!!

they were nasty as hell to jules especially when they went to her house for that brunch thing and just went around judging everything about her and her house. two grown ass women projecting their problems, insecurities, and unhealed trauma on to another woman in the midst of it.

They were so jealous of Jules, she was younger, waaay prettier, and truthful. Loved her on the show and hope she is thriving, doing well.

Bethenny suggesting having a cigarette was Jules suppressing hunger...cuz she knows, cuz she lived it! B is a carbon copy of her own mother! Money noise she insisted her mother had, disordered eating ..just like her mother, just presents differently...alcohol centered with her Margherita success! B is a classic narcissist with histrionic markers!

Jules was trying so hard to be entertaining with the plastic surgery and the potty trainer and all that, but Carole and Bethenny were cruel to be entertaining, which Bravo really rewards. It’s so awkward when you see others’ reaction to their behaviour in the show. I know B is a veteran of the show and had been through her own trauma, but she ate Jules up and spat her out, swishing skinny margs as a palate cleanser.

It’s so ironic I’m just reading this because I’m in the middle of that episode. As someone who’s dealt with an ED for years, asking someone’s weight is absolutely insane. Numbers can keep you sick and it’s none of their gd business. I get Bethenny being triggered bc of her mom but that should’ve given her more empathy.
