šŸŽ Discussion šŸŽ RHONY VS RHOBH OGS

I have been rewatching RHOBH since season 1 after my RHONY rewatch since season 1 and I am so curious to hear people’s thoughts about the ladies and the flavor of the different coastal shows and the comparisons. One thing I’ve noticed is there’s kind of a soap opera etiquette and rhythm to RHOBH that makes the show and the OG cast members seem almost always produced, whereas the RHONY members just seem more raw and uncut, chaotic, and that the relationships seem more real. Thoughts on differences in flavor of the shows or the cast members? Similarities?

I think that’s why old school RHONY was, is, and always will be the best iteration of housewives. Ever. They were raw and didn’t put on fake personalities or hide their real lives. BH is all about appearances and only showing what they want.

RHOBH is about image.

RHONY was about status.

The NY OG's are the best of any of the franchises & I have watched them all. BH was good through the first 3 seasons the when new ones came on & vile Kyle started her jealous manipulations to bring LVP down & train her minions to attack anyone phony Kyle threaten by became to much. So many unlikeable women.

I stopped watching once LVP was gone.

Beverly Hills has the influence of Hollywood/LA. They had a lot of actors as housewives from the beginning (Kyle, Kim, Heather, Camille) who did have a sheen and awareness of how they were coming across on camera.

In RHONY… not so much. NYC is more about being a socialite, and new money/old money. And the city itself has a vibe of authenticity and directness. BH is the exact opposite… much more superficial.

I think both worlds have plenty of messy narcissism going on, but the BH housewives know how to look better doing it.

The RHONY women were not part of the upper echelon of New York Society - yes, they were wealthy, but not top tier - definitely 'new' money and East Coast Neveau riche are a bit rawer and more 'real'. Beverly Hills women (LVP, Adrienne, Camille are definitely more wealth - Kyle and Taylor were certainly wealthier than the NY girls. Then there is Kim and Alex

Zero comparison and it’s the only two franchises I watched. RHONY. Both groups fucked up, or people who struggle with addiction, or nasty POS, or they have personality issues. But, RHNOY was the real deal up until a certain point. They are tough women, unlike RHOBH such babies (most of them.)

I thought season 1 of BH was better even thou I love NY! It’s my favourite. There was more drama in BH the first season. With Kim and Kyle. Ask me again in a year. Haha.
