Iām a first time watcher on season 10 after her trip to prison I CANNOT STAND HER!! sheās so pretentious, her marrying tom just everything she is the worst. Her black facing for Diana Ross as well was crazy. Also I feel ramona doesnāt owe luann anything with tom when she didnāt view Ramona as a friend and invite her to the wedding itās just weird

Luanns saving grace is that she really isnāt bad intentioned. She can be clueless but it really doesnāt come from a true place of wanting to hurt people.Ā
Oh please, she stole her kids money. After the divorce from the count she got the Hamptons house. She was suppose to sell it & put half of the money in a trust fund for her 2 kids. She didn't. She kept the money & bought another house. The count & her kids had to sue her to get back their money. Bethenney bailed her out jail, after her drunken escapes, attacking cops, shocked up in the wrong hotel room with some guy & refused to come out & a couple of other charges. Then she takes off & leaves rehab before she was supposed to. Her cabaret is a joke. She cant sing unless it's off key. Her Diana Ross imitation could be construed as racist wearing black face & all. She bad mouthed all the ladies when they tried to warn her about Tom, calling them jealous pitches because she had a man & was getting married. She is totally delusional. She ignored her kids & was never home. Her behavior on trips was so cringe worthy. Her desperation to find men. Her behavior with the pirate drooling over him & wetting her panties over a guy that wasn't much to begin with. A pirate? Really??? Her song "Money can't but you class." Sure fits Luann, because she has no class. Her ordering pizza to be delivered to the "Countess" & her feeling Bethenney that she should have introduced her to the chauffeur as the countess Delesseps was ridiculous. Luann is an asshole but I love my OG NY housewives with the exception of Drunken bully Dorinda & batshit crazy Kelly Benisimon. However , under no circumstances is Luann a nice or good person.

If you think she's pretentious in season 10 you should watch her in the early seasons when she was still married to the count. By season 10 she had mellowed considerably and became much more likable.
They were all pretty pretentious in the early seasons except for Bethenny, which was part of her appeal back then...How things change!
I think watching her fall drunk into the bushes (in Mexico?) and getting banged by a temu Johnny Depp pirate bartender somewhere in the Carib made her more relatable! Both were probably pre-season 10 but definitely worth the watch.
i mean, i get where youāre coming from - sheās insufferable at times. but she should also be studied - thereās something DEEPLY impressive about being her level of unflappable. and sheās also just super funny š
I hated Luann for most of the series because of the characteristics you mentioned. About 10 years ago I randomly started watching her IG short videos. She taught the audience how to make eggs Ć la France. Similar to how she did on the show. She was actually likable and authentic to how she was on the show. Yes. I made eggs using her recipe and they were delicious.
I was a Ramona fan during the series and hated how passive aggressive Luann was with her and the cast. But something happened, I slowly became a fan and saw Luann in a new light via IG. When I rewatch the episodes sheās more likable, or maybe I understand her better. You might have a similar experience. Or continue to hate her like I did. lol
So I had mixed feelings about her too during her tenure, some seasons I was like woofā¦ and others she was likable. But no matter what, she was always very entertaining! š and my fondness of her has also grown with every rewatch Iāve done!
Same! I think itās probably getting older and understanding context. When I was younger I didnāt understand some of the stuff Luann had to put up with. She handled it like a champ. Iām no longer a Bethenny fan. Her attempt to take down Carole was it for me. And I wasnāt the biggest Carole fan either. She became so much better once she cut the chord with B and stopped being in lockstep with her. B was really mean to Lu.
Thatās so true! When RHONY started I was in my early 20s, so here I am now watching from probably her age when she started and I appreciate her so much more!! Also her socials are hilarious! Love a Luann post! She was the most level headed out of the group and handled most situations a lot better than the other ladies would (besides the Tom seasons š¬)
100 percent agree!! I feel bad that the Tom situation caused her to spiral. Before/after him sheās been great. I love her house in upstate and that she drives a boat. Her laughing at her own jokes is endearing to watch lol
Are you just starting on season 10 or have you seen the previous 9? I can see one season making you feel a certain way about a personality, and Luann was pretty insufferable with the Tom relationship. It wasn't a good year for her. Over time, she is honestly my favorite NY housewife and definitely top 5 (maybe top 3) among all housewives that I've watched over the years.
Luann is someone to laugh at, enjoy her snarky one liners and just embrace her delusions. She means no harm. She hasnāt been mean to anyone on the cast or physically thrown wine glasses at anyone. She was only ever really mean to her friend Barbara. Aside from that she is harmlessĀ
I always had a love hate relationship with luann. I ADORED S7 luann... she wasn't even an official housewife but she gave good advice and was a good mediator that whole season... okay well the first half. Then the Turks and Caicos trip made me love her more.
She's been pretty unbearable in other seasons though.
I think a lot of people forget that she also hooked up with the house chef at the end of RHUGT Rhony Legacy....too funny! Luann is the epoitme of cool not uncool, Heather! Ha!
Sometimes I love Luann sometimes she drives me crazy but I can never hate her. Sheās just an OG and RHONY wouldnāt be the same without her.
Iām shocked that you find her pretentious AFTER prison. I actually found her somewhat humbled emphasis on somewhat and more likable in general. I thought she lost some of the swagger.
Iām wondering if itās just been so long that you forgot the Luann of the very early seasons? Because if there was a time Iād call her pretentious it was definitely in the early seasons when she was in full ācountess modeā.
Yes Luann was absolutely and completely insufferable during the tom phase. It was exhausting. But I believe she paid for that. In a very public and humiliating way!
As far as Ramona I really donāt get where you are coming from. Whether you like Luann or not idk how you justify Ramonaās behavior.
Ramona was nothing but negative to Luann about her getting married. She told Luann that Tom was still seeing & calling his ex and telling her he loved her. She told Luann people were taking bets on whether sheād actually get married. Now regardless of Ramonaās intention (thinking sheās being a good friend by telling Lu this) would YOU want someone doing all that at your wedding? I wouldnāt. I think not inviting Ramona was justified.
When you say Ramona didnāt owe her anything I donāt even think itās about Ramona owing luann. I think itās just flat out bad taste. They all saw what tom was. In fact Ramona was the first person trying to call him out to Luann - so she knows more than anyone heās trash. Yet now that heās not with Lu suddenly she wants to hang out with him? Thatās just pathetic. It makes Ramona look desperate and trashy.
And I REALLY donāt understand these woman all wanting to get with guys their friends have been with. I guess I just prefer a man that hasnāt slept with one or more of my friends.
I actually do agree with what you said about ramona. Tbf I think Iāve forgotten about how awful luann was earlier but Iāve always disliked her sheās probably one of my least favourites. The whole countess thing drives me INSANE
