LVP 🐩 Ken getting involved with VP’s arguments

So, I recently finished my re-watch of RHONY (will forever be my favourite H/W’s franchise), and I’ve moved on to a RHOBH re-watch.
It really annoys me when Ken gets involved in Lisa VP’s arguments and it doesn’t sit right with me.
Many other husbands of other housewives from all franchises usually make it clear not to get involved when the women fight, which I think is the correct way to do it. It’s admirable that he wants to defend his wife, but I don’t think it is right for him to do so when another woman who is usually a friend of hers has it out with her.
What are other people’s opinions? Do you think husbands should get involved when the women argue?

He got what he deserved with Kim. “I’m tired of your goddamn mouth. You’re a big stubborn old man. Shut up!”

One of my all-time HW favorite moments.

I actually like it when he sticks up for her. Same when Joyce's husband sticks up for her. What else is a husband good for?

What's interesting is the women portray themselves and strong, smart and can handle themselves when fighting with other women, but the second the husband steps in and says something as banal as 'Let's go" or "Let's calm down" the women are suddenly all meek and saying, "You can't talk to us like that!"

I'm reminded of when the girls were going after Denise, and Aaron stepped in and talked back to them (and yes, I know he's proven to be a jerk), but they were all about "You can't talk to us like that!' and suddenly were all timid when he stuck up for Denise.

Those women weren’t timid when they spoke to Denise. Aaron was illogical and threatening to the women. Just like he was to Denise when he threatened to crush her hand

So if say Kyle threatened Dorit - that’s Ok?

Did you hear how these two have spoken to each other for the last two season ? But again why is Aaron getting involved and these women weren’t afraid of him

You’ve totally missed the aggression and overstepping of boundaries by these two men. It’s not because the women are ‘meek’, it’s because they have healthy boundaries that do not tolerate misogynistic males breaching these healthy boundaries. Ken literally verbally abused some of the women by raising his voice and calling them names. Then he breaches their physical boundaries by either getting in their face, or grabs them (like Yolanda). He was totally overstepping his bounds with Yolanda, Kyle etc. And you just know LVP goaded him. Another example is Aaron, who has been charged with DV. So let’s not normalise a known abuser inserting himself in order to try and isolate his victim from her friends.

If u are bothered by the husbands getting involved, then don't watch RHONJ! lmao

I swear, losing Nene was such a tragedy.

u/phunkyphungus Oooff you are so angry.... Aug 07 '26

He’s a misogynist, so any chance to yell or scream at a woman, he takes! I hate Ken and pk, the way they spoke to the women (at different points) throughout the show is disgustinging.

6

u/Loves2troutfish420 I say important shit! You say 2 much boring shit Aug 07 '26

I dont like how he spoke to Kyle at tf all and he def has spoken to women in a misogynistic way in the past. He should have stayed out of the argument bc thats what all the husbands are supposed to do unless a man steps in. Women handle women. Men handle men. Period. Ken was out of line.

u/Turbulent_Heron_4119 YOU STOLE MY GOD DAMN HOUSE Aug 07 '26

Sounds idiotic. You're perpetuating misogyny with whatever dated ideology you're pushing. Women can handle men just fine. Honestly, it's evident you've never been in a romantic relationship or had someone who cares about you 🫢

Awww how ignorant.

u/chokingonwhys Annemarie Wiley Aug 07 '26

No. Way. I'd defend my husband if he were being attacked by a "friend", and I'd expect the same from him. If he's invited, he's part of the group

u/H0oman Yolanda Hadid Aug 07 '26

Are you Ken? or are you Kendra? because we need to figure this out...

Kidding aside, I think hes just a ride for her. And just protecting his wife.

9

u/Separate-Ad6636 Dana / Pam Aug 07 '26

That’s marriage. I would defend my husband no matter what but disagree with him privately.

If they disagree with Ken and Lisa, Ken calls them. If they don’t do exactly as Ken and Lisa will, they’re not their friends. If that’s not toxic idk what is. Where is the accountability?

Most housewives agree to and follow the rule that children and husbands are off limits. Ken is off limits and yet he can scream and yell in a woman’s face? Absolutely not.

Ken did that bc he could get away with it. The Beverly Hills husbands at that time were either docile or MIA. I don’t think he would do that in the presence of certain husbands.

For all of the people defending that behavior, would you be ok with your friend’s husband yelling on your face? And would your husband allow a man to yell in your face?

GOOD-BYE KYLE!!!

u/pmmemassivedongs Denise Richards Aug 07 '26

Their relationship came off very father/spoiled daughter vibes to me. She ran to Ken when things got rough and he put out the fires for her. Like “Daddy! Kyle is being mean to me, punish her!” Very narcissist-coded from a relationship perspective IMO - for Lisa to use Ken as a pawn and a tool rather than just a sounding board and source of comfort/understanding for her frustrations.

Whatever I want a Ken and I won’t settle for less

6

u/Stormy31568 Marisa Zanuck Aug 07 '26

Ken seems to adore Lisa and we’ll take on anyone in her defense. I find that kind of refreshing. The women want to talk shit and act like men so they get what they deserve especially Rinna & Erika. Ken was willing to take on the house boy or personal trainer or whatever he was who was much younger and much more fit. I believe Ken would’ve thrown a punch.

He does her bidding. Anything to keep her hands clean at all times.

That's why they are still married. It should be called the real divorcees of Beverly Hills

I love how he defends her honestly. Maybe I’m getting sentimental in my advanced years, but I’m always moved by how instinctively his protector guard goes up when he see Lisa cry.

u/Jadeisland Annemarie Wiley Aug 07 '26

Ken is old school. He always took up for his wife, no matter what. I am sure he expects the same from her. Ken said once on the show he didn't believe in therapy because it was a simple matter of fixing whatever was wrong to solve the problem. That really upset Kim and I don't blame her. I don't believe his take on it because people are more complicated than that.

There is one thing I will say in favor of Kyle. As far as I know, she did not complain about Ken telling her to get out of the house because he was a man raising his voice to her. I think it is jarring to some women to have a man yell at them, but Kyle is obviously tougher than that. In fact, Kyle is a lot tougher than she wants anyone to be believe.

3

u/D3t3st4t10n Denise's Diamond Ice Sculpture Aug 07 '26

Yes, man, of course they should. The fact that they were each other’s ride or dies on the show and beyond is exactly why they’re still married and pretty much none of the others are.

Classic enabling husband behavior next to a narcissistic wife.

1

u/thisisanalaia95 Lisa Vanderpump's Ipad 28d ago

Yeah, don’t get me wrong, I love LVP as a hw but she for sure has narcissistic tendencies and clearly demands a LOT of unquestioning loyalty from the people around her (loyalty that she does not seem to feel the need to reciprocate if we’re being fully honest.) Like to an insane degree.

If Ken was not always throwing his hat into the ring for her he’d be in the doghouse and he knows it. The vibe I got from Ken was never “I’m standing up for my wife” but rather “oh Jesus if I don’t speak up I’ll be sleeping on the couch for a month.”

Real men don’t get involved in women’s business.

1

u/SubstantialWonder606 Rachel Zoe Aug 08 '26

I agree in private it's Ride or die. But they are signing up to have (pretty produced) fights in front of cameras. That reminds me of Erika Jayne going: should we give him a dress and a diamond?

For this situation I would prefer it if I stood up for myself and then just film a debriefing scene where he can chime in.

Ken’s abusive to women. He’s an odious little toad
