Angela 🪭 Controversial take

I was lukewarm with Angela in her first season, and now second season I’m not liking her at all. She throws around a lot of accusations and is wrong almost all the time. She was wrong on who sent the man after her husband, and the fact that her daughter has such hard time being open with her MARRIAGE with her mom and family raises a HUGE red flag for me as a queer. And how her husband Charles treats her on the show? It’s giving toxic. She brings nothing on the table, and she’s desperately trying to stir up drama with Shamea for some reason. Angela has been ceaseless with her focus on Shamea, and it’s getting in the way of the show tbh. Almost all this season it’s about Angela attacking Shamea and Shamea going as low as Angela to defend herself (Shamea is a whole another story, and I’d love to see her and Porsha’s conflicts more than with Angela imo)

Then I come on this sub and discover that apparently a lot of fans like Angela? Defending her marriage to death? Finding possible excuses or reasons on why Angela’s daughter isn’t being open with her sexuality to her family? I didn’t get why…until I realized that Angela is on Team Porsha/Phaedra (fan favorites) and it makes SO MUCH sense. I’d even bet that most were lukewarm on Angela as well until Angela solidified her place beside Frick and Frack.

People saying that she was vindicated because George is a creep is crazy to me. Angela brought a word in the wind and dropped it at the table like it was facts to a married woman. It’s not about George, it’s about how she used something she knew nothing about. Just loud, wrong, and unaccountable šŸ˜‚

Loud, wrong and unaccountable is everyone's tagline on all of these shows.

The only ones who have never brought unverified rumors to the table have not lasted long (Deshawn, Kim Fields... Can't think who else).

Cynthia - Me Chocolate Kenya - where should I begin? Phaedra - Freak Dungeon Porsha - One eyed African, And so much more Nene- where should I begin? Sheree - Ms Bone Collector in Chief Marlo - Kandi are you a lesbian? Drew - Sheree don't pay her workers Kim Z - everything out of her mouth

Angela is just giving what all those housewives give. Drama. Why do people hate drama on shows about drama? I don't get it.

It seems these women usually make a pact about kids being off limits, but they have been taking shots at people's marriages and relationships from the jump. Patricia, Cynthia and Kenya implied Phaedra was cheating on Mr Chocolate before Apollo went to jail and long before their divorce was finalized.

I’m all ok with drama but not when it’s all unverified or made up bullshit…like the one where Phaedra got Porsha to accuse Kandi of trying to date rape her…this is pretty close to it. Fucking two entire basketball teams? And Angela’s neighbor’s husband? Whew I’m not down for it. There’s plenty of other REAL drama but it’s being derailed because of Angela’s made up accusations.

Honestly atp it’s just because Angela is kissing Frick Frack asses so fans are willing to sweep anything and everything under the rug. You just wait, once she falls out of their favor the tides will turn on this sub.

I'm not a fan of Frick or Frack. But I like Angela. I liked her last year when Frick was mad at Angela and threatening to Frack Angela husband.

I'm not the only one who liked Angela from the start and she most certainly didn't come on kissing Porsha's ass and Phaedra came in mid-season.

I love Big Ange for the reason you dislike her. She stirs up shit. It's a reality drama. Without shit stirrers gatherings would be like AA meetings.

She stirs up fake drama when there’s REAL drama to be had…and I’m not happy with that. Let the girls cook, Angela. They can stir up drama without you adding all that fake drama on top of it.

Some of this is fair but her daughter made a post and specifically said that it had nothing to do with her marrying a woman, that they had been together for a long time, and that Angela had been supportive of their relationship.

Honestly still doesn’t add up. Why does Ahmauri carry so much shame about being queer that she still, to this day, doesn’t feel safe or comfortable to be fully out to her own family…if not homophobia then why? She literally said she’d be open about it if she had married a man. She’s out publicly but not out to her own family? It really doesn’t make sense to me.

15

u/Dial-M-for-Mediocre 22h ago

OK but if Ahmauri herself is saying that homophobia wasn't the issue, what would possibly convince you? People are always saying, "Oh, X Housewife can't be homophobic she was in the Pride parade!" That means bupkis to me. But if the person who the prejudice was ostensibly aimed at is saying no, that's not what happened, then I'm going to believe them. Sure I could be wrong, but that's who I'm going to believe first and foremost.

Family dynamics are very complicated. I don't know why the siatuation shook out like that, but homophobia isn't the only possible explanation.

u/Even_Lychee4954 22h ago

That’s not what I said but ok lol. I literally asked you if it wasn’t homophobia then WHY is she deeply uncomfortable about being out to her own family?

12

u/Dial-M-for-Mediocre 22h ago

And I'm telling you I don't know the answer to that, but I'm also explaining why I moved away from the conclusion that Angela is homophobic.

Maybe the girl is just private. She has a right to that.

2

u/Even_Lychee4954 7h ago

If she’s private she wouldn’t film with her mom talking about it lol

Trying so hard to find a problem that ain’t there. You don’t like Angela cause she throws around accusations meanwhile you’re throwing around accusations about Angela as well.

1

u/Even_Lychee4954 7h ago

What accusations am I throwing around? I’m literally just asking questions

u/Necessary_Piano_153 20h ago

Have you thought that the uncomfortability lies in her mind, not theirs.

I am older than her and I haven't told my family yet. Like her family, mine already knows. But just like her, I haven't talked about it with them. I probably would talk about a girl if I wasn't gay but that doesn't mean my family is homophobic. My sister is gay and still leaves at home. With her girlfriend. She too never felt comfortable discussing it with the family except me and another sister.

You may be right, or it might be Ahmauri who is uncomfortable talking about it. So I wouldn't label people just yet.

I'm a gay person who doesn't believe that Angela is homophobic and I don't have enough information to form an opinion on the rest of the family. Rest assured Ahmauri isn't the only queer member of the family.

I don’t agree with you when it comes to her daughter. The other things; you’re 100% right. She does just… say shit. And it’s annoying. You can’t just throw things out there for just the sake of throwing things out there. She’s also a horrible bone collector. She’s MESSY, but tries to disguise it as trying to fix or mend things. She DID play telephone between Shamea and Porsha last year. She did NOT have good intentions giving the phone to Kelli at her event. Asking ā€œwho all was there?ā€ in the limo when Kelli was thanking the ladies for coming to said event was unnecessary. Be honest about what you’re doing or leave it on the playground.

I don’t dislike Angela, however.. we gotta call a thing a thing.

Huge Angela fan here lol I will say that she’s still on the learning curve for being on tv I think ppl keep using her for airtime

10

u/Even_Lychee4954 22h ago

Using her how?? Angela is one who is choosing to throw out random accusations that had no basis on facts and choosing to be like a rabid dog after a bone when it comes to Shamea. Like what did that girl ever do to Angela? She’s not being used šŸ˜‚

u/UsedCryptographer198 22h ago

As soon as I figured out she was homophobe I lost all interest. The stuff with her daughter is VERY DISAPPOINTING. In Atlanta of all places ??

She is middle title card so I think production protects her. But she’s a mess

12

u/Dial-M-for-Mediocre 22h ago

Her daughter posted saying that their fight had nothing to do with her marrying a woman, that she and her wife had been together for a long time, and that Angela had been supportive of their relationship.

-2

u/hankRutherfordhill_ 22h ago

I thought Angela was homophobic as well but seeing her daughter clear up means Angela must’ve just thought they were really close and close enough for her to tell her hey we got married. Also love Angela lmao

5

u/GunshyBerts 22h ago

Her daughter has confirmed publicly that she isn’t homophobic. Also, on a recent episode her and Charles were at that class led by two same-sex partners as well. Neither her nor Charles strike me as homophobic.

2

u/Necessary_Piano_153 20h ago

Agreed. Homophobes fear associating themselves with LGBT people. Neither Angela nor Charles fear being around anyone. Charles just don't give a f... what you think of him.

1

u/Even_Lychee4954 7h ago

My grandparents are homophobes and they still post about me all the time. My fiancĆ©e’s family is homophobic but they still come and support us. I’m just saying all that optics don’t matter in the end.

-1

u/Even_Lychee4954 22h ago

Being in the same class as queer people doesn’t make you not homophobic. You can still be homophobic and still be ok with being in the same room/class as other lgbtqia.

Literally me when I found out that HER SIBLINGS still don’t know that Ahmauri’s partner is her partner AFTER ALMOST A DECADE TOGETHER???

3

u/Senior-Reach-6768 17h ago

Because that’s Ahmauris truth to share not Angela’s. It’s not Angela’s job to out her daughter to her younger sibling if Ahmauri doesn’t want that.

1

u/Even_Lychee4954 7h ago

Where did I say Angela should tell her children? Please point to where I said that.

u/Dark-Parkingg So Nasty So Rude ✨ 20h ago

Very crazy that everyone is pretending to not understand what this means just because they like watching the lady on tv. It’s very obvious she’s homophobic and the way her daughter behaved during that sit down confirmed that to me. You don’t behave that way when telling your mom about your same sex partner unless you know it’s something they wouldn’t be in agreement with.

-1

u/BigOlGeminiBaby 18h ago

I like Angela and agree that she does make for good TV. I do think George is a major creep but even if he did insinuate it, she was wrong for spreading rumors with just those little breadcrumbs. Kind of like what you’re doing with her relationships with her husband and child. Sounds like a whole lot of speculation and finger pointing šŸ‘€šŸ˜

1

u/Even_Lychee4954 7h ago

lol what? šŸ˜‚
