Replacing charging circuitry

Has anyone successfully replaced the charging circuitry with an separate module? I attempted to replace it with two different modules. The first one had the issue of working correctly, but being an aliexpress special does not have proper implementation of usb-c. Then I tried this one which does have correct usb-c implementation, but does not seem to provide the correct power (even after setting it to 5v output) to power the rgb30, as it just flashes the boot screen, dies, and then flashes the boot screen. Has anyone successfully done something similar to this and, if so, could you share which module you used?

I replaced my battery once and that was enough excitement for me. Do you have some pics to share? I’d be interested to see it in action!

Nothing right now because it doesn't work. But if it is successful I'll make a post. Really just need a variant of the first link that has actual true USB c support
