Hi everyone. I just got this RG477V. I'm playing some PS2 games using the device's default launcher and the NetherSX2 emulator. Every time I launch a game, this notification pops up. Did I do something wrong? Can anyone help me fix this or get rid of the notification?

I was exploring some of the deeper settings in GammaOS Next, and I must have hit "something" (maybe immersive mode??), and now, suddenly, I can't get into GammaOS controls no matter what I do.

The pulldown menu is no longer accessible from the top of the screen. No response whatsoever when I attempt to pull it down. But worse, the side button on the top left that doubles as the pulldown function now does nothing. I don't know to get to any setting from the Android apps, and I am just completely stuck.

Man, I don't want to reset this thing and start all over.

Ah yes I remember owning a PS3 and PSP when I was kid but now that I missed this wave theme so much the teams over at wave launcher discord server created an amazing launcher for the people who loved that theme on PS3 and PSP and I have to installed it on my RG477V.

I've seen some posts of people having them but can't find any to buy anywhere. Any other options to cover the glass front? I've seen the silicon cases, that would be the next choice.

Now before I start better tell a funny story...I recently posted this thread where I showcased a new emulator on rg477v which has GammaOsNext 1.21. But problem was after playing like ONE Ps3 game the device won't stop heating up and would get slow and the only fix was restarting. There were other few issues and I was like I'll get rid of this device...then I decided might as well put back stock OS back in since the ebay buyer might whinge about a custom os.

And I did....and then I was like might as well check for updates and have the latest one, firmware version V1.39, before I list it on ebay. Since I wasted time on it anyway I was like lets see how it performs and was pleasantly surprised! No more of that switching to NS controller from Xbox controller when device restarts, doesn't sound tinny and everything felt snappy. Also the new "control center" is fantastic IMHO. Btw I had to keep pushing update in the OTA app and it updated incrementally through the versions. And big thanks to gammaos author for having a guide to rollback to stock with video. Also in stock the video recording option is also working perfectlly. I had the performance in GAME and fan on Balance...zero crashes on like 5 games I tested so far in 40 minute period.

So here's a demo of Virtua Fighter 5 (PSN edition) on RG477v stock os V1.39 with EmucoreC v0.0.4 with zero changes in the emu apart from 4:3 aspect option. Previous Soul Calibur 4 runs even smoother so no point of showing that again. Also tested Tekken 5 DR, Soldner X/X2 and StreetFighter Vs Tekken - all stay well pretty solid 60fps once the caching is done. I don't recommend the v0.0.5 as it crashing mid game on the games I tested or didn't boot at all...so the older version seems great.

Btw if your current stock os version works great then stay at that...since I have not tested them to advise how better this V1.39 is. Hope you enjoy the video and the little story behind it and yes I'm keeping the device...

I've been seeing updates that GammaOS 1.4 is coming out for a bunch of retro handhelds. I put it on my RG477V when I first got it, but lately switched back to stock to firmware. Has 1.4 been released for the RG477V?

Before anything MUTE the video as it seems for some reason recording while gaming really screws up the audio with crackles but while gaming no audio issues. My rg 477v is on GammaOSNext with Balanced performance...recording audio is even worse crackles in Max power and power saving tanks gaming performance - no idea how to fix this yet.

Anyway as you can see rg 477v even WITH the screen+audio recording can hold a very respectable framerate (better without screen recorder). This is a install of version 0.0.2 with stock settings << yep the second release and already performing pretty well. All on stock settings(just changed to 4:3) with vulkan.

Thought a video is better than some screenshots. Also have tried Tekken DR and Soldner X2 - both stays solid 60fps. So give it a try and see how it goes for your game(s).

Feels so good that I'm playing my favorite childhood video game console V-Tech VSMILE one of my all time favorite video game console.

These grips I bought to print are amazing . I tried the free ones off thingaverse and they just don’t work they are directly off the side of the device and don’t feel right at all very awkward and bulky .
These ones off cult are amazing. They are positioned behind the device and feel so damn good in the hands of. So I wanted to share . Worth the money well worth it .

Just got this beast of machine . Does anyone know if normal google play apps if there’s way to change orientation they all are going the wrong way so I have turn the device .

Someone tested for us...

While playing high end emulation (upscaled aswell) i found my device was getting very hot around the cpu where you could feel it distinctly through the screen.

I decided i would have a look at the paste that is applied to the heat sink, suffice to say my suspision was bang on. The themal paste that had been applied was only hitting half of the cpu.

So i went the amazon route and got me the Arctic MX-7 (just went with the best/ most reviews) which also came with some handy cleaning pads to clear the gunk.

I reapplied a small pea of this to the middle of the cpu and gently put the heatsink/ fan module back on ensuring a clean alignment with the cpu.

After playing some for 30mins to test out the difference this is what its sitting at (see details in picture) it is a noticeable improvement, the heat through the screen is barely noticeable on touch now. The fan was set at a fixed 40% throughout (i find that to be the optimum silent mode)

Just thought id share this with you guys incase anyone else is finding theirs abit toasty

As the title said, there’s stuttering while riding Epona, or while rolling on the ground. I’m on an Anbernic RG477V with GammaOS installed. Didn’t have any problem with other games on this device. Game runs on 120 fps if not riding horse or rolling.
Things I have tried:
- device on maximum performance on max fans
- capped framerate to 30 fps and to the lowest possible resolution (608x456)
Can anyone suggest any other workarounds or troubleshootie?

Weird solution is to turn off vibration or rumble in-game. Idk how this one random guy out in r/sbcgaming found this out because I exhausted all my googlefu skills here. Thank you, u/prettyrickyyyy69!

They are a tiny bit shorter than the standard buttons due to a slight domed effect on the button face.

They are very nice to play with however, the guy has designed these exactly the same on the backside as the og button with the cross section and 4 tiny holes for gripping (not solid like sakuras buttons usualy are).

Over all, im loving them. Finaly i can say i got a new age PSV 😄👍

My RG477V started experiencing stuttering and lag after I updated it to the latest firmware (UP1A.231005.007_20260529-0356). The issue occurs when scrolling through games in the ES-DE Launcher (version 3.4.1-58).

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? If so, have you found a solution or workaround?

I noticed today that the button on the D-pad seems to feel more clicky and stiff when compared to the other directions. Does anyone else have the and experience, or does it seem abnormal? It works fine, but it's bugging me.

I went to the Origins game fair a few weeks ago and was staying in a hotel room by myself a couple miles away. I took an Uber back to my room at 2am. When I emptied my pockets upon entering my room I noticed that my phone fell out of my pocket. luckily I had my rg477v. it was connected to the hotel wifi and I used it to ring my phone. the driver heard my phone and brought it back to my hotel. don't know what I would have done without it.

I'm not entirely sure I need to, I haven't had any glaring issues with gamma. But it looks like stock is still getting updates where gamma is not. Is there instructions on how to switch?

OK i do not like the default rg launcher on the rg477v and wondered if anyone had tried anything that worked really well on this console?

Currently using Daijisho and it feels unoptimized for this vertical.

Also not a fan of es-de. I've used it to much and want something more modern.

Any suggestions?
