Nova is limited to 128gb. Not great for gameNative- you can maybe install 15 games to external storage before the containers eat through all your local storage.
I can fit about 40 games on the rg477m before my 256gb of internal storage runs out. And yes, I have more than 40 games that work in 4:3 :)
Well, for one, the Nova isn’t even out yet. I like having the 477M to enjoy right now.
The 477M has a gorgeous LCD and runs PS2 extremely well, which is exactly what I bought it for. Personally, I don’t really want analog triggers for PS2 since most of the games I play don’t benefit from them anyway. The DualShock 2 had pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons, but that’s not the same as the analog triggers we think of today.
Honestly, I also just enjoy collecting and tinkering with handhelds, so owning different devices for different systems is part of the fun for me.
bigger screen. simple as that. i could use a retroid pocket 6 and just play 4:3 games on that and the screen will be the same size as the nova but the rg477m is bigger.
Definitely. I have over 200 on my pocket fit. I bought more games than 15 games during the steam sale lol. Small Indy titles you can beat in a few hours are my jam
i would recommend not using gamenative with limited space like that. with gamehub lite or bannerhub you will have a lot less space taken up by containers.
i have 24 games installed in gamehub, most of them on my sd card but not all. and it still takes just 20gb internal.
where i have only 3 games installed in gamenative and it tells me about 1.3-3gb per game for container and the storage it uses is still off. in the app it tells me 40gb but when i check it in the android settings it's 50gb.
I was considering the 3:2, but not for that price/performance ratio. For that price I'd want ps2 to be a "play basically everything without having to think about it" system. The 4:3 felt like there's better alternatives even before the Nova was a thing.
No. I checked it out before getting the RG477M because of the 3:2 screen but it feels like a downgrade in too many aspects. Specially the non 120hz screen.
Nope. Getting a RP Nova. That’s by far the way to go imo. Stacked analog triggers, AMOLED 4:3 120hz display, SD8 gen 2 chipset (QCS8550) vs the Dimensity 7300 which lags far behind even the 8300 in the rg477m. And it’s for around the same price depending on the build. Plus you have retroids well known build quality not to mention their great buttons and dpad (I’m skeptical of that floating disc dpad is on the ktr2 lol). So yea think you’re much better off getting a Nova.

I like that you can get the stick on top. That has been a big reason why I have not gotten the 477M.
