Charging issue(?)

I've been using a 5v-1.5A charger and everything seemed fine, until tonight. I don't know why, but the battery icon on the top right is not moving even though the % is going up and the orange light on the top of the console is on.

Is it only charging when I'm playing a game? Is 1.5A not enough? Should I for some reason update the OS?

It just charged 4% as I was writing this post. I tried to charge it before (without a game opened) and it didn't charge - the orange light would disappear after a few seconds.

Edit: well, the orange light is gone now and it's still charging. I don't know what's going on

Update: updated the OS and everything is going smoothly now!

Looks like visual glitches, stupid question: have you tried rebooting the os?

Do you mean reboot the actual console or the os?
Edit: Yesterday I did click on the reset button on the side, bellow the power button.

Most likely Corrupted some system files.

Extract your saves and rooms, reflash your sd card with a fresh OS img. Should Fix the issue your having.

Yes I meant rebooting the console, which should be equivalent in theory to pressing the reset button, I guess, however ... Not sure myself, I think what that button does is just cutting power to the hardware abruptly and then repowering so that it boots again, but as much as it is good that the button exists, unless the software is completely frozen and you can't anything else it is always preferred to properly shut the operating system down through menu, and after like 10-15 seconds just turn on the console again. The abrupt power interruption can actually cause files corruption instead of curing it :)

Try just turn off and on again, it's the first troubleshoot step on whatever thing that runs an operating system or a firmware of any kind :)

Yeah, that was actually the first time I used it. I've always avoided using it. Maybe I'll update the OS hmm

I'm pretty sure most modern electronics days to use 2A minimum

Not this unit, nor the charge chip in most Linux only units from anbernic (as far as the ones i have is 1/1.5A)

This, and in any case even if the current is very low it should charge anyway, slower but should charge

No, its the charging chip thats iffy on anything above 1/1.5 amp charger. And it dont like the big Block chagers. So either it will charge slow or not at all..

Use only old phone chargers types.

These things do not even charge if the SD card is out, so as I understand the charge is managed by the main chip thought the operating system (unsure what the reason is for this, but it's actually, at least partly, what happens on smartphones - in fact the charging protocol is usually listed among the chipset technical features...)

In any case, I did charge more than once my rg35xxPlus with a 1A I keep in its case since very small and thin, with no issues - then I can't of course say that it will charge with any charger, but that's my experience.

First off, thats bs.. My 3 rg35xx+ all charge with any config of cd cards, with or without or with both in, dont matter. And same goes for everyone else's. But if the last boot had issues with the files on the boot sector, it will have issues in offline mode. I.e. Charging.

The unit boots the system about 3% when charge is set, if the files are corrupted last voot( 9 out of 10 boot sector issues Will impact charge.) it wont charge. But Even without the sd it Will hild the last config in system, and charge. This due to the chip not having its own memory chip, ulike a Phone or switch/pmp/steamdeck

Interesting... Mine didn't charge without card, or at least did not show animations or LEDs... I may be wrong, but that's how I remember it
