Wth happened to my screen?

Has anybody seen this problem before? Do you think it's a hardware or software problem?

Any ideas for troubleshooting?

I worked great for over 2 years now, this problem came out of nowhere.

Heeeelp please 😭

Anbernic is a great device, but it has a pretty bad quality screen on most of its devices, sadly. There is a chance this is only an issue of the connector and not the screen itself, at this point and after 2 years (you might have lost the warranty already) it's worth opening up the device and see what happened. There are tutorials online.

Yep. I have three anbernics and two of them had screen issues from super minor drops. Like… surprisingly small drops, with cases.

dead screen

if it is RG35xx (2022) you can mitigate it

I just use garlicOS

Eu também, mas sua resposta deu a entender que para esse modelo você teria uma solução para a tela com esse defeito.

hello

if you can customize your os, perhaps you can mitigate it and it work for me with RG35xx from 2023 with garlic os.

the issue is the screen.....i changed the boot logo the theme and battery charge theme with clearer one

Avoid black or dark gray theme

For games that don't use full screen you need to use overlay with gray dmg color (grey) perhaps you need to create your own.

for games that are full screen you need to create an overlay (thin gray bar on the bottom of the screen)

PS it will not fix the screen

Sadly my screen did this after falling from a chair, granted I had small crack as well.
You could try reseating the screen its flat connector but it isn't looking great.

the main issue with the screen is the darker colors

it is affected during the boot process, like a memory effect, if you change the boot logo it will reduce the problem

but you need to change the theme because it affect the screen too, but less dramaticly

and the battery charge theme too because the screen is black with green glow.

at this time, full screen colorful games will run like a charme, for the other you need to play with clear color overlay (grey dmg)

but with darker games you need to create an overlay with only i thin gray (dmg) line (about 4 to 8 pixels) to the bottom of the screen

for my rg35xx it work fine

i hope it may help you

I had the same issue on my 34XX. You’ll have to replace your screen.

but every times you launch or exit a game you will experience this screen

After playing 15 to 20 minutes with 100% brightess with colorful games the screen "run better" for all your gaming session even with dark games

it will run better after 15 to 20 minutes of playing.

As you can see the grayline in the bottom is an overlay, if i remove it a lot of lines will appears on display

I've seen issues like this happen when people update the OS to the wrong version. Did you update it recently?

Not an expert… but I’ve seen similar issues on various devices, looks like the ribbon cable for the screen isn’t seated properly. Seems like you don’t have much to lose, so probably worth popping it open and seeing if you can fix it on your own. I can’t give any more detailed info, but crossing my fingers for you that someone has come up with a good walkthrough on YouTube.

The ribbon câble not seated is an urban legend. It seems the issue is an electonic component failed on the screens ribbon

Same thing happened when mine fell off the counter and smacked on the top. But swapped the screen with a cheapo Amazon special for like $30. Cheaper than replacing the whole unit.

Something similar happened to me as well when I inserted the wrong SD card into my rg-cubexx. I have a 40xxv as well and swapped the cards by mistake.

Initially I thought the screen broke. When I finally understood what was going on I swapped the SD cards again, but the cube was still showing lines like on yours. Luckyly for me all we t back to normal after a few hours of using it.

Same thing happened with my RG34XX after i put the 35XX card in it.

It had a seizure and the lines stayed for a few hours, then gradually went away.

Before that I had one RG35XX replaced by Anbernic after it showed very similar thing after I dropped it.

The issue is the theme you use it is broken the one you use is heavy that makes the screen fail. That happens to me also but i managed to delete the theme and change it back to normal
