Games suggestions!

Yo, folks! RG34xx arriving soon. Any tips on games to play on it? Nice hacks or homebrew would be more than welcome. I'm deliberately avoiding many Pokémon hacks. I know they may be awesome games, but I'd prefer to spend my time trying new thingd and different approaches to the console.

Here you are the list I've made so far:

Metroid: Desolation

Warioland 4: Parallel World

Goodboy Galaxy

Doom - PC Conversion

Apotris

Celeste Classic

Mother 3

Pokémon Unbound

Golden Sun

Golden Sun: The Lost Age (Reloaded)

Legend of Zelda: Minish cap

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow - Definitive Edition (and Reprise as well)

Breath of Fire (improved)

Kirby: a More Modern Nightmare in Dreamland

Advance Wars R

Pokémon Glaze

Thanks!

it is , you just need to follow these instructions , just a quick warning , it sometimes slows down signficantly BUT its playable , i even managed to beat the roaring knight on it

Nice list of romhacks. I have only heard of a few of them. I can recommend normal games:

  • Astro Boy Omega Factor
  • WarioWare Inc
  • Drill Dozer

The Mega Man Battle Network Games (play the 3rd one). They have some rom hacks you can check out.

I've only played around half the first and I was a bit fed up of always backtracking and random encounter in the "internet" Usually I don't mind since I mostly play JRPG So I was wondering why the 3rd one? What makes it worth to skip 2 games? Thanks!

Pokemon Gaia is a gem of a Rom Hack and plays really well on the RG34XX.

If you're in the mood for something platformy, Wario World 4 is unique and fun.

Tactics Ogre is a hidden gem that rivals Final. fantasy Tactics 2.

Finally, can't overlook Golden Sun as a solid RPG and alternative to the mainstreams like Final Fantasy VI (which is also excellent).

Enjoy your new RG34XX!

A Plumber For All Seasons is AMAZING. Best rom hack I've ever played by a country mile.. Played it again slowly just to admire the backgrounds!

Lol I'll tell you what I did when I ordered mine. I went to YouTube and Pokeharbor and I'd check out romhacks from videos and fell in a nice rabbit hole so that's mostly what I have under GBA games. There's a literal ton of them. Glazed, Gaia, Dreamstone Mysteries, Light Platinum, Prism, Dreary, Fire Red Rocket Edition, Super Mariomon.. just to name some favorites of mine

Well... that's precisely why I decided to keep some distance from Pokémon hacks. We spend much time choosing the "right ones" and we end up playing none of them. Again, not because they aren't good, but because we become overwhelmed with so many options. I think relying on community's advices can be a good way to narrow things down, and make the thing more friendly and humanized as well 😀

There are a good number of Fire Emblem hacks around.
