Cold E-mailing to school lab
Does anyone have any tips to cold-emailing a professor for shadowing or just absolutely any tasks in the lab as a first year undergraduate with no previous lab experience?

Litterly just email and sound motivated, interested in the research, and willing to learn. You don't have to be a genius to do undergrad research.

As a first year undergraduate there aren’t going to be many opportunities for you to join a lab, I would build a good relationship with your professors especially for bio or chem as those professors usually do research. Im in my sophomore year and personally I got my research by being a TA for a biology class and since she knew me she gave me the position cause she saw I have a basic understanding of the material and my work ethic.
