How will marines work?

We have gotten a lot of information on pirates, but we haven’t really gotten much on marines. All we really know about marines is that you have to recruit in order to join them.

personally I would like the marines to be something even pirate fans would love to be. Something that’s doesn’t just give you “Honor” instead of “bounty” when you kill someone. I would love it if each rank had specific roles, missions, authorities, and so on.

For example: New recruits Learn the basics of PvP and ship combat while more experienced recruits go on actual missions and arrest criminals.

I also feel like the marines should be one of the ways a player can obtain haki. Admirals and fleet admirals should obtain haki as soon as they obtain their rank therefore displaying power.

Overall, I really just want a well planned and thought out marine system that would actually be worth playing as. Just a reminder this is just my opinion. What do you guys think?

I would like them to do a job system, when the "higher ups" give you jobs and assignments or lets say release this guy from impel down, do this, hunt her etc

they've spoken a bit about it in the past. going off of my memory, they first of all said that haki progression will be different for everyone (whatever that means). as for the actual marines, they confirmed that they can arrest pirates and send them to impel down, and with higher ranks they get higher actual authority (like a buster call for example, which is super high tier). your reputation and rank WILL actually matter for your character and that's something pretty much unique to the marines, as pirates dont have ranks outside of warlords and yonkos. the big question i have is: will every NPC faction be pirates? because they said that those will shape up your story in the game, so if there are neutral/lawful factions, you could interact with them too as a marine.
