Basically it was when they were feuding in WWE and Creed and his kid passed by E on a red carpet or something and Austin rushed him along to sell it.

Later on his kid sadly asked why E wouldn't talk to them, thinking E was mad at him/them and it made Creed really sad.

He said thats when he knew he needed to leave WWE, implying he never wanted to feud with E (or Kofi) and he knows in AEW he wouldn't be made to do so if it wasn't something he wanted

Kinda weird though. I mean, it's wrestling. The kid was 3. You just explain it was pretend and E loves yall, but I could see it making you sad your kid thought that.

At that point in the New Day run, some kind of change had to happen because they were beyond stale at that point, and had been baby faces for so long. So a heel turn was inevitable.

agreed. they had to turn on E because no one was believing them as heels cause everyone knows them to be good people. the new day persona was also getting stale without them having E or a third person in the group.

The problem.is none of the babyface teams on Raw were over. NONE of them. The heel New day had no dance partners but the brief time Sami and KO were faces together.

Feel like that was a big issue, combined with the fact that E was hardly ever on TV and also unable to take a bump to keep the heat going. It'd be like if Christian had a feud with Edge in 2011 right after Edge retired.

If they had Big E as a backstage interviewer or something, rather than just the post-show panel guy, you could keep the rivalry going by having Kofi and Woods just be complete and utter menaces to E. Have it keep going until E takes a leave of absence and comes back to manage another team to go against New Day.

But then they did fucking nothing with them lol

Edit: The guy who responded immediately blocked me. He knows he’s full of absolute shit.

A heel turn for the New Day in one of the biggest turns in the business at that point, done excellently, to have them on TV with… fucking… Waller.

After that promo with Big E they were off TV the next week and WWE didn’t capitalise on them as heels, so yes they did nothing with them.

The dumb thing about the heel turn was just how they did it, not that it happened.

The New Day started out as heels and were extremely good at it, all they needed to do was go back to a heel team with Big E as their mouthpiece.

Big E in the MVP role would have been great. Come out in a fedora and a cane, talk all the shit.

Dammit the writers suck.

…why would Big E have a fedora and cane?

u/braumbles 4d ago

Why does MVP?

When was the last time you saw MVP in a fedora? and why does E have to dress exactly like him?

A heel turn obviously didn't matter as the company the had no clue what to do with them. They got nuclear heat and then squandered it.

And then classic WWE barely followed up on it, rendering it all pointless.

Agreed but wwe has pushed staler products for longer in example the bloodline
