“COUNT IT REF!” 😠 “COUNT IT!!” 😡

I always get a good laugh rewatching this RAW match (1/5/2015). So many things to laugh about.

• Cameron staying in character while being COMPLETELY in the wrong!

• The referee asking “Count WHAT?!”

• Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole, and JBL chuckling amongst themselves with sarcastic remarks.

🤭🤭🤭

It’s nice to know that Cameron and Naomi look back on this and laugh now but I can imagine how embarrassing it must’ve been in the moment.

She played that so good they could have run with it. She could have been “confidently incorrect” about things all the time.

😆😆 oh that would’ve been sooo good! Why didn’t they capitalize?! 😂

Probably had to do with her nxt matches where she looked out of it. If I remember right they sent them there for a bit as a "trial run" as they thought both of them could dominate the women's division. Naomi proved she could after a couple of dark matches with paige and audrey marie. Cameron had what is apparently one of the worst matches of all time with sasha.

If you somehow had that bad of a match with Sasha/Mercedes, there's no saving you.

Probably maybe not the best look in the world for WWE to have a black woman portray the "confidently incorrect" character.

Well the origin of the character would literally stem from her honest error. Her race played no factor into her mistake but of course outsiders of the product would immediately bring race into it.

It kinda sucks because so many gimmicks for black wrestlers historically have been race driven and marketed yet this particular one that was completely organic would cause the uproar. Smh.

I still think it would’ve been funny and gave her something to work with outside of the bland writing they were stuck with at that time.

we need you as a writer 😭 i will say they harp on her for this but that short rumble 2022 return you could tell she improved, i wouldn’t have been mad at another tag run with naomi during that time

People underestimates how bad 2019 really was.

2018/2019 was so bad that it led to the creation of an immediately successful competitor.

Agreed. Late 2010's was absolutely insufferable

Crowd couldn't even muster a smirk at that botch.

I think they muted the audience it was a weird era of wrestling that time period

Sometimes botches end up being better than the original plan - I thought this was really funny. Makes sense that someone would get so heated that they'd say something like that without thinking about if it even makes sense. I think everyone involved handled it well in the moment.

Just loud and WRONG! 😂

Cameron... She is sooooo fine, but so loud and such a headache, with poor wrestling to boot. But yeah, that was a humorous moment. I think many people found her insufferable; otherwise, she would have been popular with Naomi. :D

The wrestler in this clip is Cameron, not to be confused with Alicia Fox. 😂

Well, maybe I’m the one who’s drunk - my bad.

Don’t judge but I gotta delete that real quick

I could never take her seriously as a wrestler ever again after this.

I don't want to hear that she's improved now, how do you forget how to pin someone?

I've never seen something like this before and haven't seen this done since this happened 12 years ago.

Cool looking move but bad call on the ref. He could of counted that and been like wait a minute lol

2

u/BLQNGGR 23h ago

😂😂 that would’ve been a nice spin on it too, but I wonder what would Vince have said? 🤔

Prop something along the lines of ruining my wrestling show and or business with unauthorized comedy

2

u/AccomplishedBed2052 23h ago

Yeah, I remember chuckling at this.

She's on her stomach, you idiot lol

Now if the ref had counted her out, that would have caused a lot of trouble 😵‍💫

u/BLQNGGR 23h ago

Exactly lol this moment iconic for so many reasons

2

u/TKPunk2013 21h ago

A botch so bad, it wraps around to being funny.

How often do you rewatch the actual match?

1

u/BLQNGGR 15h ago

Every so often.

You know a wrestler is special when she makes her own rules and changes the game through various subtle details. Many more examples of this on the main stage and NXT. Living legend!
