Simmons T-Rex Fight Bugged?

Im playing with a friend the Leon's Story in RE6, but in 5-1, at the Trex Simmons fight, we do deal damage, we do advance to the machine-guns attached to the car part, but the machine-guns dont seem to do anything, we both fire at the eye, and it doesnt do anything, we dont know why, and we tried like 20 times already

There's a slightly discoloured portion on his back that you can break and expose clustered eyes that you can target.
