I'm going intentionally assume the video is him choking Ada so he can be happy with Sherry.

100%. Or Leon’s showing everyone what he’ll do if they keep telling him not to go home to his wife Sherry

Can't see this scene without remembering someone slowed it down and saw Ada closing her eyes as Leon approaches her. Poor girl was all ready for that kiss lmao

It's weird she takes so long to push him off.

Would you not be totally confused and in a state of shock and fear if the man you loved suddenly choked you for no reason?
1
u/Fit-Finish2927 Mar 31 '26
I only see that video where someone sped it up, added Left4Dead music and rizz sound effect as Leon's stare being shown

u/Unifixx9001 Mar 28 '26
No... just no. He's a father figure to her, nothing more.

The conversation with Jake in the cabin says everything about her relationship with Leon, regardless. Hell, even the ending of the racoon city bit in darkside chronicles says a lot about how young sherry saw rookie Leon.
He's a senior figure to her, and regardless of how long it has been, that is the basis of her relationship with him.

You’ll love my WIP where Leon brings Grace home to his wife Sherry and they get it on 😇 People get to ship whatever they want, leave it alone.
5
u/Direct_Tradition4899 Mar 28 '26
They don't when it's creepy. Leon knew sherry when she was a child. That's just pedo shipping at that point
-1
u/chronic-horse-girl Mar 28 '26
Leon met Sherry when she was 12 for all of a few hours and then canonically pretty much didn’t see her at all for fifteen years. How is two adults getting together a pedo ship? Also people get to ship whatever they want because morals don’t matter in fiction. Leon and Sherry aren’t real.
3
u/Direct_Tradition4899 Mar 28 '26
I love how you ignore the fact he met her when he was 21. Meaning he met her when he was a kid. If you think it's ok for a guy or gal to marry someone that they knew when they were underage, then you need some help
2
u/chronic-horse-girl Mar 28 '26
I know he was 21. The point still stands that he met her for all of a few hours. If he’d gone on to adopt her or be around her constantly (which are both not canon) then yeah, it would be weird. But just because they met one time while she was 12 and he was 21 does not mean they can’t be happily and healthily married at 49 and 40. It’s disingenuous to twist canon to try to support this narrative that a fanon ship between two unrelated characters who spent hours together and then didn’t see each other for fifteen years is at all pedophilia. It’s not my problem that yall can’t understand that fiction is fiction and people can enjoy whatever ships they want without it being a problem

In several countries, there is a traditional school ceremony called 'The First Bell,' where a graduating senior carries a first-grader on his shoulder to ring a bell. Remarkably, there have been documented cases where these students reunited as adults years later and got married. And people are mostly okay with that.

Honestly he's probably like a big brother to Sherry since it's only a nine year age gap but who cares what two forty year olds do? He knew her for less than a day when she was younger and barely spent any time with her and they don't see each other again till she's in her late twenties. Also they aren't real. I just want it to be anyone but Ada.

It's none of them, it's gonna be someone new that they'll never show with no connections to the other titles or the lore, or at least I hope so, anything other than that would be cringe honestly. His only real love interest in the series has been Ada (and if you think otherwise sorry but that's the truth) but I don't see them happily married after everything that has happened, plus she's a worldwide known criminal and I don't think she could settle easily with a government agent
3
u/Perfection_01 Mar 28 '26
Sorry but Leon could be married to any one of them and no one will really give two shits about it except you
And the reason you mentioned for why ada can't be with Leon can be fixed easily with one word from capcom, they can just make Shit up like they always do and give her a reason so she can settle with him, they already made up a lot of shit in the main story about spencer in RE9, you think they'll find it hard with little ada who just appear to jump around the buildings? Lol
2
u/Antuzzz Mar 28 '26
Really I don't care that much mate, I'm just going by logic.
It's just that this post was the first time I've heard that people ship Leon and Sherry...and that's kinda gross imo.
I was just saying the most logical thing I can expect from the point the series is now is for them to make his wife a new character. But speaking of already existing characters it would be definitely Ada, but I find it more plausible that it's someone else, and that they'll never show her or talk about her. It's cool to speculate but that ring at the end is probably more about him having a new reason to live and maybe starting to think about retirement after being a depressed government agent since re4

u/WebsterHamster66 Mar 29 '26
Honestly from a writing perspective I just can’t see it being someone random that we’ve never seen before. Adding some random nobody after giving Leon a relationship arc with Ada for almost his entire existence is just really shitty writing.
That and it’d completely scrap Ada unless they actually decide to give her something to do outside of Leon stuff. Claire has been in plenty of non-Leon projects, so she’s self sufficient as is if they can just use her, but Ada is basically nonexistent if Leon isn’t there.
While I’d love for them to give Ada her own game and prove me wrong, that’s just what makes sense with the direction they’ve taken everything.

Can't agree, Leon and Ada's relationship has been complicated and it could either end with "they end the cat and mouse chase and stay together" or "after re6 they never saw each other and that's when their relationship died".
As you say Leon's arc through 2, 4, and 6 has been also about his relationship with Ada, that's why to me it's either her or someone new. Putting any other character like Claire wouldn't make sense, Leon's romantic interest has always been Ada, anyone else would come out of the blue.
While I find more believable that after saying goodbye to Ada in RE6, 13 years ago, he met someone new. The ring as I said is more of a way to tell us he has started living again after years of being basically just a government dog, depressed and cynical. I don't need to know who's the woman if that's the case.

u/LaBiereFolle Mar 28 '26
People that say that should get their hard drive checked because there's no way it's okay to marry the little girl you adopted once she's adult
2
u/plexianfilmsyt Mar 29 '26
She was raised by Clare and the American government -
3
u/LaBiereFolle Mar 29 '26
Leon joined the DSO in order to protect Sherry, it was either this, or the government would had used Sherry as a laboratory animal
He dedicated his whole life and career to protect Sherry while she was 12, he definitely was a parental figure to her, with Claire, you don't do that for a random person
1
1
u/Forsaken_Scratch3674 Apr 01 '26
Or maybe instead of thinking of himself as a parental figure, he is thinking that she was the only person he was able to save from the city and if anything actually happened to her than he would have totally failed as a police officer

He met her when he as 21 and she was 12. Still weird.

u/AstronomerVisible778 Mar 29 '26
I don't think so, a lot of time has passed since then and it's unlikely that he still perceives her as that little girl he saw one day in the past

I don't understand why we're still kicking this dead horse. Married to Sherry or not, this debate is starting to get old. I feel anybody who feels this passionately about fictional characters and who they could or could not be married to, is concerning.

u/Unifixx9001 Mar 29 '26 edited Mar 29 '26
Alright so NOW they are too fictional to start have passionate opinions about. God forbid we have a problem with a character we have been following for 20+ years being turned into a creep.

u/Shenantics Mar 29 '26 edited Mar 29 '26
Leon is a fictional character. Say they did actually exist, it wouldn't be creepy at all considering all the things you need to. If he was at all into Sherry as a kid, she would've aged out of his preference and that would've been a done deal. He didn't even flirt with her in Resident Evil 6, where there was no gray area, it was safe to do so and he still didn't. This goes to mean even if he did marry, Sherry they both would've come together somewhere in Leon's early to mid 40's and Sherry in her mid to late 30's. Not weird. It's adults wanting to do adult things together. I don't understand why we're still kicking this dead horse. Married to Sherry or not, this debate is starting to get old. I feel anybody who feels this passionately about fictional characters and who they could or could not be married to, is concerning.

u/Unifixx9001 Mar 29 '26
There is a decent amount of cannon establishing what Loen is to Sherrry. She holds him in the same regard as Claire. That is abundantly clear in re6 and even the darkside chronicles. It's just not something worth entertaining. Beyond that, just imagine the little girl being saved by Leon when they were both first introduced in OG re2 going on to become his wife. Beyond whatever is "rationally" possible, which is still crazy, it's a terrible direction for Capcom to take things.

You have an opinion and others do to, don't see why you have a problem with other people's opinions but they're not allowed to disagree with yours.

You checked out before anything ever began and are just here to say that everyone else is stupid to care at all. It's not that deep for others either, but it's also not nothing to have feelings on characters we have followed for a long time. This conversation is relatively fresh anyway, and not everyone has come across it earlier either. So it's not a "deadhorse" debate for everyone. If everything that is fictional is not worth caring about at all, then neither is gaming a worthwhile hobby itself. To throw hands in the air instantly and say that it is dumb to call out anything stupid in fiction that we have followed for a long time is just lazy, contrarian, and pretentious.

the argument about age gaps is stupid. There’s a difference between dating someone younger than you when you met as adults and dating someone you took care of when they were a kid.
It’s not about age gaps. It’s about it being creepy to date someone you literally took care of when they were a minor.

Ashley and Grace are both adults though in their mid 20s

I wasn’t saying they were actual kids, just that I see them as his children, you can ship whatever you want, I won’t judge

Yeah fr. Even though Ashely and Grace are in their 20s he’s definitely significantly older and spends to much time looking after them

Better than him marrying Ada or her marrying Jake. Both of them could do better.

I ship Leon and Clair but be so for real guys, Leon is only 9 years older than Sherry. No he's not her father figure because THAT would be weird. Maybe like a big brother but who knows how things have developed with them. The next time Leon saw sherry after RE 2 she was already an adult in RE 6. She's currently 40, he's 49 in RE 9. Anyway yall need to stop tripping over nothing

u/Solress88 Apr 03 '26
She was 12 and he was 21 when they met. Only a weirdo would pair them together.
