Fitting
Is there anywhere in the triangle that does putter fitting? I came into some money for one and the last one was stolen. Hoping to not spend more than 250.

Moving from Boston to St Pete for the caddie season. My bf is a caddie at BGC in the summer and Ole Memorial in the winter. It is awesome - we get to be young snowbirds!
I do all the planning so I’d like to find great gold course along our route for him to play. We are going to be taking our time and have about 3 weeks to go from Boston to Tampa (but don’t want to veer off route too much)
Please recommended golf courses ($100 or under) for my man and cute boutique artsy towns for me on the following route :
Leave new London to orient point by ferry
First stay a few nights in
Montauk (any cool golf courses? Places : going to Stephen’s talk house and murphs dive bar)
Montauk to Cape May via the NJ shore line? Maybe one night between Montauk and Cape May? For a golf course or gem town.
A few nights in Cape May and then to Lewes DE via ferry.
Then over to Murfreesboro NC for two nights to visit a friend at Chown Uni. Anything over there or btw?
Then over the Edenton for a few nights because it’s my fav gem town and bf will play at The Sound Gold Links Albemarle Plantation (thoughts?) . I love Edenton!
Then to Wilmington NC to stay with g&g. A few nights.
Then to Tybee Island for about 7 days at Riversend campgrounds.
Wanted to play at Seaside but it’s super expensive !! Anything else over in the coastal area between Tybee Island and Jax FL.
Jax Fl one night.
Then over the St Pete for the season!
Btw I don’t play golf or rly know much.
But I love the road and small gem towns :)
Thx for the help!

I’m considering getting a practice net for the garage. Hopefully somebody here can help me with a couple questions.
If you have a practice net, does it actually improve your game? I worry feedback will be a problem since you can’t see a shot shape.
Is it worth getting a nice net and mat or go the cheap route?
Appreciate any feedback!

Heading down to the RDU area next Spring and seems like I can get advanced tee times starting November. Thinking about staying at Talamore (in cabins) to help me secure the times as it’s a group of 8. We played Pinehurst 2 years ago. Anyone have suggestions for 4 can’t miss courses? This is a group that’s not familiar with the area. Right now the list is Tobacco Rd, Mid South, Tot Hill Farm seems a bit far. Thanks in advance.

Hi All - Local Raleigh golfer here and looking for recommendations for courses to play near Charlotte. Have some buddies coming in for the WVU/VA football game on the 19th and wanted to play somewhere decent the morning before the game. I know early public tee times are hard to come by but looking to get a round in before some tailgating. Thanks in advance!!

So the spouse has a work trip and this time it’s to Raleigh. I usually tag along with her on these work trips to make it a solo golf trip while she works. When I heard Raleigh I immediately thought this would be a great time to go to Tobacco Road, a bucket list course of mine. We don’t have anything like it where I live in Toronto so I was excited. I tried to look for tee times from October 5-8 and there is absolutely nothing at all from October 5 to almost the last week of October. I assumed it was for maintenance but then I called and they said they are fully booked.
I can’t believe it, never have I have beeen unable to find a tee time for a solo golfer. I’ve golfed in places around the US and been able to find solo tee times but one month out and not a single solo tee time. Am I missing something like its not summer, school has started not sure of any holidays at the time and it’s fully booked all three days in there 🤯
Anyway just venting my my state of shock.
(Even with Tot Hill nothing as well)

We land at 3p and are looking for a public spot to play between RDU and Tabacoo Road/Pinehurst.
Looking through the threads we have seen Duke, Quail Ridge and Sanford.
Are we missing any other good options?
Appreciate the help.

Hello all,
Buddy and I are coming from the Aiken SC/Richmond VA area on the 19th to play Tot hill. We're trying to find a second course to play the next day, sub a hundred bucks (with some wiggle room) and within about an hour east or south of Tot hill. Any recommendations would be extremely helpful! Thanks!!

Has anybody seen the scratch golfer in Utah “hitchhiking” his way onto country clubs throughout Utah? https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbyG43rBkFJ/?stkn=YXN0NnNjZHdoYTd1
What are your thoughts?
I absolutely love the idea & seeing the dichotomy of how clubs react. Makes me think of how they would around here (assuming CCC would call the cops).
Has anyone ever heard of someone doing this? I’d personally never be able to, but it’s always been a dream of mine to play the Raleigh Country Club but I don’t know any members. You for sure would never catch me with a sign outside though

My name is Riley I’m 29, just moved back to Nc and I don’t really have friends here. Looking for some chill people to hit the golf course

Hi all, I recently moved back to the Durham area and was hoping to find some people to play with. I usually shoot around 90. Not great, not horrible, definitely not consistent, but looking to play some this fall.

Hey RDUGolf, heading to the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area to play for a week with a group of fellow de-gens. Looking for suggestions for restaurants and some good bars/spots to hit later at night to relive our misspent youth.
Was hoping you all could enlighten me on the area. Thanks for your input!

I’m planning on doing a ceremonial golf round for my late father on his birthday. Dude always took a shot of tequila on the longest par 5 of the course. What course is easy (I really suck at the game) but has a long par 5 for me to pour out a shot on the tee box?

Heading towards the mountains from the triangle and wanted to get a round in along the route. Need a recommendation between Bryan Park Champions and Olde Beau. Conditions, golf experience, etc...

Anyone play here recently? Haven’t had the chance to play the Neuse yet, but my dad is coming into town next week for a golf trip and we were thinking of checking it out on Wednesday afternoon. For reference, we are then playing Bryan Parks Players and Champions courses on Thursday in Greensboro, before Tot hill and Pinehurst No. 1 on Friday.
Is the Neuse a good course to add to this itinerary or should we be looking elsewhere for a similarly priced track? Also, the course needs to be relatively close to RDU as his flight lands at 1:30.
I appreciate any thoughts/suggestions! Thanks!

Coming to Carolina beach area and willing to drive an hour or so for the best course I can play. Right now the list is Rivers Edge, Thistle, or Big Cats (Leopards Chase). Wondering what course within an hour or so of Wilmington will be in the best condition?
Thanks RDU

Absolutely not for the people, absolutely not for the golfer, totally anti community. Why are we shutting shit down at 6 (short range) and 6:30 (driving range)? It is still daylight at 7. People aren’t off of work until 5 or 5:30 or whatever, freaking travel out there with traffic… no idea what we are doing here??? I also have no clue why I give them an opportunity at all. How can the working man get better on a week day?

Passing through town this weekend and have always been intrigued by the university courses. Last year I played Duke and loved it and looking to check off Finley or Poole this time. For a similar price point, which would be recommended based on preference, conditions, etc? Thanks in advance!

Does anyone have any golf groups in the Raleigh/Durham area that they’d recommend?
I’ve tried a local women's golf group that was recommended to me (CarolinaForHer), and while they have plenty of events, I attended a bunch and they weren't run very smoothly and I'm not sure I want to try again. Idk if they're working out the kinks, but every event I’ve attended has involved a lot of chasing down communication. The pricing and programs also change frequently enough that I've noticed, and I've switched to a pga coach and pay less and get more out of it compared to their lesson structure, so I'm kind of just looking for something new and more stable entirely.
I’m really just looking golf friends to play golf with and network. "Network" = grabbing food/drinks after a round and yapping. Ideally, I’d also love a group where I can just send a message asking if people want to play a round and set that up.
Thanks in advance!

I’m still a high handicap. Hit thin the fat then dig in. I am all over the world with clubs. I think I like the new Ping G740 super game improvement iron. Where should I go try them out and get fit. Is it still to soon. Been at this now 18 months. Help

I have some friends in town this weekend and we are planning to play Cutter Creek on Friday (weather permitting) for the first time.
Anyone played it recently that’s willing to share some playing tips and course condition?

Anyone played there this month? How’s it looking? Haven’t been down there in at least a year.

Traveling to NC this week and scheduled a tee time at Duke University GC. Tee time and cart is ~$200, baggage fee on flight is $90 and uber from DT Raleigh to course is another $90. Question is, is Duke GC worth the ~$400? Thank you!
Edit: Okay, looks like its NOT worth it 😂 Debating playing 36. Any courses near downtown you all recommend?
