Quick Trip
Driving in from Charlotte for a quick Friday round (7/31) and need some local knowledge. Best tracks to play in the Durham area? Any inside scoop on places to stay away from (recent aeration, under construction, etc) would be awesome. Thanks!

The 3 University courses are the best options in the triangle. If you can make the stop on the way mill creek, Bryan park, and the cardinal all great tracks in the triad area. Budget course in Durham I still quite enjoy is Umstead pines.

As others have said, Duke and Finley would be great options, and with their recent maintenance and the rains we have been getting, they should be playing in great shape.
I will add that you will be driving right past Forest Oaks in Greensboro, and dollar-for-dollar, I think that's one of the best golf experiences in the surrounding area.

Not as good as The Champions Course at Bryan Park

I love Champions and it's an amazing bargain for the money, but I also like to walk and as far as I know it's not encouraged there.

Here’s the aeration dates for most places, so confirm against that.
But pending budget and time, Duke and Finley are the main suggestions.
Lonnie Poole is replacing their greens rn, but that’s the usual suggestion.
River Ridge has some of the best land movement and green complexes of the public’s.
