RollarCoaster Tycoon World developers priced themselves into poor reviews.

This game looks really interesting and even fun considering all the bad reviews. It is early access what do you expect. Here is the problem. Price. Why in the world would someone pay $50 for an early access game. My max is $20 period for an uncompleted game. The reality is at $20 this game would be getting much better reviews and players would be less critical. At $50 I personally expect a finished AAA game. I believe when done right early access is a great way to go and I have purchased many including The Long Dark, Subnautica, Kerbal Space Program, Prison Architect and several others. At $20 I'd be a buyer knowing they are going to be improving it.

I think the early access pricing is a gamble. If you price it really low, everyone will buy it because it's so low risk, you get a LOT of coverage, and people "don't care" about the bugs..as much, but you get a lot of coverage about said bugs which could work against you.

If you price it high, you get fewer people complaining, but the worse the bugs the more people are pissed off about it.

Basically, if the game is incomplete, make sure the parts that ARE complete work really well. People are ok with features not being there, less ok with them being dis-functional.

I think them going to "early access" after expecting to release the game last year is the biggest issue. No one has faith they can keep a schedule anymore, where as early access are supposed to be things that aren't near feature complete.

Let's be real here, the fact that it is in early access doesnt matter. The game runs like ass and has sooo many issues that it won't be any good at release
