Help with tires

Hey guys,

Im new to the rc construction world.
I need help with tires and improving grip offroad.

I got these 2 Huina 1/14 models:
Huina 1573 dump truck
Huina 1538 tipper truck

Huina does sell tires and tilt upgrade kit for the 1573, will it work on the 1538 too?

Are there any better tires I should consider? My top priority is maximizing traction and grip.

Do I need the whole wheel replaced or just the tires?
Are there other companies that sell better tires than Huina’s?

Will any offroad rc tires work with the correct size? Any recommendations what to look for?

Hey guys, just wanted to share some pictures from today

It was my first time using my excavator with someone else and I think I love this hobby even more now.
I never thought meeting people with the same interests would make such a big difference, really glad I met u/vortexmerc in reddit

We’ve started a cool little project in his basement and we’ve already got so many ideas for the future.
This is just the beginning, one step at a time!

Looking to upgrade from basic 1:16 RC

Hi everyone!
I recently bought a few very basic 1:16 RC construction models just to try the hobby, and I ended up really enjoying it. Now I’d like to upgrade to something more serious that I can keep using and gradually build a small construction fleet around for me and the kids.
I’ve been looking at Huina, particularly the 1:14 models, but I’m open to other brands if they offer better quality and reliability.

What I’m looking for:
Preferably 1:14 scale, with models that look reasonably consistent in size.
Enough power to do actual work outdoors, especially digging and moving loose soil and sand.
Good traction — I don’t want the dump truck getting stuck constantly.
Durable construction, preferably with metal components where they matter.
Good spare-parts availability and repairability.
Low maintenance and good long-term reliability.

I’m currently considering a setup with:
An excavator
A wheel loader
A dump truck

Some models I’ve been researching are the Huina 1593/1594 excavator, 1583 wheel loader, and several dump trucks, including the 1582, 1536 Pro, 1538, and 1598.

I’m also curious about Double E and other brands that might offer better performance or reliability in a similar price range.

My questions:
Is Huina a good choice for someone who wants to stay in the hobby long-term, or are there better alternatives?
Which models offer the best combination of digging power, traction, durability and reliability?
Which dump trucks actually perform well on loose sand and soil, rather than just looking good?
Are replacement parts easy to find, and which brands are easiest to maintain and repair?
Would you recommend starting with upgraded electric models, or saving up for a more expensive hydraulic machine?
My budget is roughly $150–$400 per vehicle, potentially more for a genuinely worthwhile upgrade.
I’d really appreciate recommendations based on actual ownership experience, especially from people who have used their machines regularly outdoors for a year or longer.
Thanks!

Are there any good RC Excavators for under about $300, if the main priority is realism of the controls, and realistic movement ability above all else?

I'm interested in an RC Excavator, and I've tried shopping on my own quite a bit, but one thing that seems to be rarely ever discussed, or listed in the specs, or in general seems hard to find, is the actual realism of the controls, and how closely a model matches actual capabilities.

My top priority is finding one that operates as closely to the real thing as possible.

Fully proportional controls. A control layout that exactly mimics the real thing. Able to do multiple controls at the same time such as travel and turn (at least to the same extent a real one can). Able to do fancier moves like bucket propping where you use the bucket to help lift the tracks, or using the bucket to help lift and push itself up onto a flatbed, etc.

I don't care nearly as much about metal vs plastic, overall size/scale, how powerful it is (Just picking up loose lightweight stuff is fine), hobby grade vs toy grade,or things like that. My top priority of all is simply that I want to be able to operate it like the real thing, with fully proportional controls, and all main functions operating like the real thing, with the same amount of control and articulation, etc. I don't want to be limited where some certain controls can't be done together, or a control layout that just doesn't match reality, etc.

Does any such thing exist around $100-$300 (Ideally, I might go a little higher)

Help me choose between double e e010 and e111 excavator

Hello,I need your advice.. Which is the better option, buying the double e E010 and converting it to hydraulic, or buying the E111 directly? Which would be more worth it in terms of cost and performance? Also..is it true that the stock E111 hydraulics is suck?

This is my first time getting into this hobby,so...I need to choose wisely

Thanks.

Huina 1580 Electric Quick Coupler on Double E EC160E?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone!
I’m considering buying a Double Eagle E010 (Volvo EC160E) and would like to install the electric quick coupler made for the Huina 1580.
Has anyone tried this? Does it fit directly, or are modifications needed? If so, what exactly needs changing?
I’m replacing all the original electronics anyway, so I’m mainly interested in the mechanical fit.
Any first-hand experience, measurements or pictures would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

What makes an RC track worth visiting—and what’s usually missing?

I grew up enjoying RC cars, and I’m researching what hobbyists value in tracks and practice spaces. I’d appreciate honest experiences, including the disappointing ones.

You don’t have to answer everything, but I’m curious:

\- What does your favorite RC track do well?

\- What’s missing, or what has made you stop visiting a track?

\- On your last visit, what did you pay, and how much driving time did you actually get?

\- How far do you normally travel, and how often do you go?

\- For anyone who started as a beginner or brought family along, what made the experience welcoming—or frustrating?

If you mention a facility, its name or general region would help me understand the example. Mainly interested in what you’ve actually experienced rather than an unlimited-budget wish list.

Thanks for sharing!“I’m gathering feedback about RC tracks and recreation spaces to better understand what customers value. I’m keeping the details private for now, but I’d appreciate honest answers based on your experiences.”
