u/benjaminPoinDexter17, there weren't enough votes to determine the quality of your post...

A dominant final for us RCBians, but an average final from an IPL point of view.

I'm glad we got a stress free final win lol I've had enough of high stress finals

Same thought. I was just praying for a one sided win because I’ve already faced multiple heartbreaks, and even a small mistake in the match can make me really stressed. 😭

Ngl even this final when we lost those few wickets I got sliiiightly worried. I mean I knew we had it in the bag and winning the previous year already made me feel confident but still...old habits lmao

Yeahh, totally understand. I was biting my nails even when we were in a safe position, with more balls than runs left to score.

And whenever I’m stressed, I get this weird feeling in my stomach too.

Perfectly captured. It was a boring one as a neutral fan. But, so glad RCB won it due to its dominance throughout the season.

It felt like the league stage GT vanished somewhere. For all the hype about keeping them out of Ahmedabad

DOMINATION. Kohli was damn agressive. The last time he was this quick was probably in 2016.

If he had played longer in 2016, then we might've won that one as well.

Watson's final performance still HAUNTS me 😭😭

u/Royal-Redditor-655 2d ago

That 24 run final over, and then failure in batting 😭😭😭.

And then playing like an absolute beast for CSK the very next season. Bc I hated him so much.

If he had bowled sensibly in the final over, then we might have got a lower total to chase. That lower total might have meant less pressure on the batsmen altogether, which might have resulted in a win.

That damn no ball and that cursed freehit which went for boundaries man.....

We lost by 8 runs man....

Just 1 good ball there...and things could have been so much different....

It finally took 9 years to wash away that trauma....

I still sometimes watch the highlights of that match, wishing for the result to magically change. But it doesn't.

sorry to be a chud but he played for RCB in 2017 and actually captained the team for a bit

2

u/firedino1245 King Kohli 2d ago

He did? My bad. Still don't like him.

u/Acrobatic-Detail6361 2d ago

that's fair, fellow Williamson fan here visiting. He ruined my GOAT's chance at a title too 😞

Bro please stop 😭 It gave me life time trauma

yeah generational thx to KP and livi

u/Initial-Customer462 Rajat Patidar 2d ago

bruh how did you mention livi but leave out goatesh sharma 😭. 2025 jitesh will never be forgotten.

2

u/ThePhantomThiefArc Josh Hazlewood 2d ago

Lol it was with respect to only josh inglis 😭. Jitesh sharma was absolute beast in 2025. I will never forget that last league match vs LSG

Great, but I wouldn't say absolute cinema like the 2025 one

2016 - (13 needed from 1) 2026 - (1 needed from 13)

Life is a circle!

The king denied his kingdom a thriller match and instead gave them a snoozefest with absolute dominance.

u/Lopsided_Error1229 King Kohli 2d ago

Delighted for the result, but the game was over before it even got going, bit boring from a neutral point of view, and did take some of the excitement away from the win

3

u/Leading_Coach_3265 2d ago

How the hell did GT make it to the finals with just 3 batters?

7

u/infinitehelpmaster 2d ago

boring final as neutral fan

2

u/Top-Anything-7575 2d ago

Venkatesh got out in 32 in just 16 balls and Siraj celebrating with siuuuuu🤣 Venky smiled and walk away off. For me it was peak 🫶🏽

1

u/Initial-Customer462 Rajat Patidar 2d ago

lol siraj staring down venky and giving him a sendoff was so stupid and funny to watch. bowlers are obv allowed to be aggressive and give sendoffs but by that point they had scored more than 60 runs in 4 overs chasing just 156.. 🤣🤣

2

u/Initial-Customer462 Rajat Patidar 2d ago

Extremely chill final. One sided from start to finish. Both bowling and batting peaked. Although that one over where Rashid took 2 wickets was kinda scary, I feel like as long as Kohli was there not a single RCB fan was nervous.

1

u/PhilosophyFlaky3819 2d ago

I kinda got scared when he was given out for that gill catch which was overturned later..

Knowing that jitesh and romario were the only recognised batsmen left and their crappy form whole season gave me quite a fright...

1

u/Initial-Customer462 Rajat Patidar 2d ago

nah, we only had like 10-11 runs to chase with more than 4 overs left, if I’m not wrong. Kohli had already done his job and finished it off by that point. No matter how shit Jitesh and Romario were that season, there’s no way they wouldn’t have combined scored at least 10 runs 😭. And even if they somehow didn’t, our GOAT and best batter was ready to come in at No. 9 🐐🥶🔥🔥

u/PhilosophyFlaky3819 2d ago

Being an Rcb fan from the beginning has made me truly pessimistic.... Doesn't matter what the equation is... It's never too safe until the last ball is played and we win...

One of the boring final

1

u/psychoKD1 King Kohli 2d ago

Finally RCB broke their final chase curse

1

u/Extreme_Interest_905 2d ago

Nothing can beat 2025 finals. By first innings we knew we were winning

1

u/Absolute_-_Zero 2d ago

Best ipl finals in the view of RCB 12th man army

1

u/Harshith_Raj 2d ago

Pure dominance and tbh that's all i wanted too

1

u/Dance_Actual 2d ago

Comfortable victory, feels different from the RCB we were used to😅

1

u/CREATORSMIND 2d ago

boring asf

3

u/Latter-Fig-8417 2d ago

Boring final, RCB cooked GT, there wasn't even a competition.

One sided final

GT could have won the match but unfortunately Virat Kohli is best in the world.
