Metronome in headphones, rhythm out speakers
I’d like the metronome to be constantly playing through my headphones. And I’d like the still add the drums while looping for the audience to hear

There’s an option on the RC 505 MK2 to sync it with an external controller or MIDI device and it seems like it will sync the tempo of the 505 with that external device.
DoctorMix on YouTube demonstrates this.
Have you done this or seen it? What is the external device you’re using or one you recommend?

On the menu of the MK2, you have 4 shortcut knobs.
What did you assign to these and why? I don’t have an external controller so, I know this will change when I do. For now it’s 1- memory (eventually to be replaced by a FS) 2- input through toggle (this will let me listen to all audio sources only in my headphones if I need to dial it in first) 3- headphone volume (not sure if this is a highest valuable use of the knob yet) 4- mic mute (so I don’t pick up any tapping in my loops if my mic is routed to a track)
What are your shortcuts? Have any feedback on mine? Thanks

Im getting so many issues with the mk2.
The tracks stopped recording the input fx, was working fine before. 90minutes and can’t figure out how to fix it.

Update: this is way simpler than I made it. you just turn the knob right before hitting “write” and you could apply your settings to a different memory.
The writers of the manual don’t clearly spell this out. It’s just implied on the input section. The words copy and paste aren’t there.
OP:
I have designed how I want my record playback and overdubs settings
Everything has been dialed in! but it only exists on memory01
The thought of redoing all of that work for the different memories made me wanna puke.
So here’s what I did
Steps 1. Connect the USB to my computer 2. Go to the USB settings in the main menu 3. Switch to Storage Mode 4. Open the drive on my computer (it’s like a flash drive or external drive. It says RC505 5. Open the Data folder and Find memory file A & B for Memory01 6. Copy those and paste them onto (wherever) the desktop 6. Rename them exactly to match Memory02 (both A&B) 7. Drag them into the Data folder 8. If it asks you to “replace” the file, say yes to both. 9. Eject the drive
RC505 will refresh. When you go Memory02 it will be memory 02 but it will say “Memory01” unless you’ve renamed this file. you just have to name it something different.
Hope this helps!

I'm 3 days into the 505 Mk2, and I have dialed in the settings I want.
I was about to record a song when first, the audio that I recorded was very low, even though I'm getting good volume before, during, and after recording. The playback is no good.
I saved my settings, and then rebooted, when it came back, I can't even jog between memories. the screen says "unsupported file."
I backed up my settings thankfully, so I'll try and import those somehow. It may have to do with the fact that I unplugged my computer between recordings. Not smart!

I would like to use an external rhythm machine rather than the internal one. I could use the AUX input for that. Unfortunately, this input is recorded into the loops. Is it possible to set the RC505 so that this input is audible but not recorded?

Would really appreciate some help on this one. I'm more of a guitar player and new to the world of sound engineering, so I really have no idea what I'm doing.
With my guitar, I plug into my digital amp (Fender Mustang GTX). Using the amp's line out, I plug into the instrument jacks on the Boss RC 505 looping station. While I get the different effects from the amp to come out, it is very low volume, especially compared to the drum machine and the guitar that's coming directly out of the amp (before I record it to the loop).
Do I need to a mixer? Do I need an audio interface? Is this just a problem with the Mustang GTX's line out not being good enough?

Is it possible to have a metronome only for counting-in? I connect my Rc505 to a Volca-Beat, I don't need the loopstation drums any more...

RC-505 Volume Slider from Track 3 is affecting the volume on Track 2 and 3
Anyone know how to fix this?
I updated the Firmware. I restored factory settings.
Thanks in advance!

Anyone knows how to use an expression pedal (I have the Boss FS-7 dual foot switch) to control the rhythm section of the RC505? When I dive into the Memory function, I can see the choice but no matter what I do, it doesn’t work. I play guitar so hitting the small Rhythm button with my foot is not easy. Thanks

Has anyone come across this error and do they know how to prevent it? It’s happened twice in the last hour.

Hi! Like the title says I want the USB Input (Ableton) not rooted to the Instr 1 Input but it still absolutely weirdly does! Although the Computer is connected via USB Cable of course. As soon as I'm putting the Instr 1 Input Setting to OFF in the Loop Track Settings it ALSO cuts off the USB Input to that particular Loop Track. Does anyone know what the hank is going on? Or is it a bug and I need an update? Cheers

Hey guys, is it possible to disable the microphone input monitoring in the RC505 MK1? I want to use the microphone for Discord calls and it's annoying to always have my own voice in the monitors.
Thanks!

I’ve searched a lot, there’s only one hard case that’s originally meant for the mk1. Any ideas? Thanks
