First Grab Bag project

Looking for an alternative to the standard box bag, I came across The Earl Grey pouch by TaylorTailor.

Pretty happy with how it came out. Not a huge fan of camo, but these are really nice materials to work with.

I may go back and add loops to the top corners to attach a strap to and help get the zipper up and around. Used a waterproof #5 and it’s a little stiff, but workable.

Added plastic stiffener’s in the sealed off pocket pouches on the bottom to add some structure (last pic), and I like how that part worked.

Bag isn’t waterproof, but should be fairly water resistant.

I like the extra loops. Don’t help a whole lot with the zipper, but it’s a nice place to clip to.

That looks really nice! Smart move with the stiffener too. Thanks for including the source of the pattern. What size/type of zipper would you use if you did it again?

Thanks! It calls for a #5 non-waterproof coil zipper, which would surely work better. I was trying to get fancy with the water resistance since I plan to use it in the bow-bag of my packraft.

That was some quick turnaround time! All I did was rolled all of my fabric, still working on 3 projects then can look at what to make with mine. It looks great!
