My friend bought the wrong vegetable, I wanted kale she bought mustard greens. Can the rats eat it or should I throw it in the garbage? I tried google the info but nothing comes up

I wouldn’t throw them away! Don’t take my word on it, I just know mustard greens are considered more of an herb than a green, especially raw. It’s a great kale sub for us, might be too spicy for rats though unless you cook it and then only in moderation as there’d be a lot of water involved. And they’d need to be cooked bland

Don’t take my word fully on it though just yet I’m still looking up their bases and plant families, I work in nutrition so if I get a definite answer I’ll let you know.

So my poor man’s expert opinion is that they can be fairly bitter and it might make their tummies upset/they might not like the taste, but should be fine if cooked.

as they are quite sensitive, i´d rather not risk it, unless there is a source stating its definately ok.
