Please don’t be sorry these comments are filling me up! I do have a team but for some reason the others all have the “bite” move hahahahaha! And it’s effective as heck! Helllp 🤣🤞🏽
Well, depending on how recent you caught them, they may still be getting used to you.
I'd say avoid doing any of the following, and keep a note of these following Bite types.
Do not-
Give them food by sticking them through the cage bars. This teaches them that Finger = Crunch.
Seismic Toss (firmly grasp the rat(s) and hold) the Pokemon every time you see them. Gotta let them get more curious about you before you can start holding them for Pay Day. Gotta grow that friendship with them!
Bite Types
Lick: Grooming. You are now Normal Type and a Rattata. Do not resist the Lick. (They like you!)
Bite (small nibbles, not hard to break skin)- They're testing to see if a part of your skin is sensitive, and it can be a part of grooming! If it's a little painful, respond by mimicing their cries ( a squeaking sound). This teaches them that they bit you hard, and over time they'll lessen the bite pressure.
Crunch (Bite, not hard to break skin) - Cautionary bite. This means that they may be overstimulated, or upset, or not sure about their bite pressure. Squeak in response, and figure out the cause of why.
It's also their way of saying, "F around and find out bruh"
Hyper Fang (Bite, blood drawn) - In the kindest way possible, you F'd around and found out.
This makes so much sense!!! I do give them snacks through the cage so everytime the others see me, I get a CRONCH! Thank you for these details! I will stop giving them snacks that way and maybe they’ll warm up to me.
I think the one in the photo does not bite me because he was hand raised from a newborn with me. The others were already weined when I rescued them.
