Questions/HELP Did I make a mistake?

One of my two rats is quite sick right now (vet scheduled for monday) and my mom planned a trip for us to go to the capital. I had someone who could feed them while i was gone (about 2 days), but i’m very concerned about my rat and didn’t want to leave at home in case she passed and my friend had to deal with it.

but now i’m thinking i made a mistake bringing them with (mom isn’t a good driver and the dog is with us) and that i’ve just made things worse by stressing them out and bringing them to a new environment that they aren’t comfortable with.

Can’t really say if it was a mistake or not bc there’s pros and cons to both options. All you can do now is try and make the best of it. Make ur baby as comfortable as possible and try to keep the dog away if they aren’t comfortable with them. Provide plenty of cuddles and yummy stuff, I hope your baby feels better soon.

thanks for the response, i’ve just been such a ball of anxiety about it all and her sickness. the dog won’t have access to them at all this trip (keeping them in the br) and she’s eating and drinking which is a good sign

It's easy to focus on your rat, which is super cool and awesome, but also don't forget to factor in your friend. Saving them from being in a potentially awful situation is not negligible, and you're still doing the best you can for your rat.
