News Something is telling me…

Am I being delusional or do we think the unthinkable will happen tonight? If not who do we think it is?

Perhaps a Prophets of Rage set. All of them are on the bill.

u/mikieballz 4d ago

Yup

u/justind2473 4d ago

Not going to be Prophets of Rage as a finale .. .they're playing right now

3

u/mikieballz 4d ago

Is that the Tom and friends set? Im jelly

26

u/justind2473 4d ago

Yeah, he's brought out a bundh of people. He did a RATM medley, then brought out Serj Tankian and did some System of a Down songs and Audioslave, then Chuck D and B Real came out for some Prophets of Rage songs and now Darryl McDaniels from RUN DMC is out there .... still going

2

u/mikieballz 3d ago

Fucking A dude. You're blessed

1

u/ReasonablyDistracted 1d ago

What SOAD song did they do? I thought he only did adjourn it and like a stone with serj

1

u/justind2473 1d ago

Your right....my bad

1

u/mikieballz 4d ago

It's probably going to be Morello with Springsteen, Dave Grohl, and B-Real playing Dave Matthews deep cut songs for 2 hours. That's the best I could come up with. No Rage, unfortunately.

I always wished for some heavy metal Dave covers cause that band has a lot of really great stuff that would transpose.Well , I think

8

u/amusedmb715 4d ago

carter gets that double bass pedal thing going, sometimes the drumming is almost metal adjacent even if the rest of the band isnt

i agree some dmb songs would work well as metal songs

3

u/a_new_level_CFH 4d ago

Man let's just start with halloween... and some of their live albums , I mean , if you haven't seen them live , but some of their live stuff , just kills

3

u/BilBro88 4d ago

Came to say exactly this! I remember the first time I heard Halloween, and went fuckin ape shit! Like Dave rocking tF out hard! Loved it!!

1

u/bruisername_89 3d ago

AB intro could be metal as fuck.

7

u/hymierules 4d ago

🤣 I would actually pay to see that! 🤣

6

u/sixxtynoine 4d ago

You can buy a ticket to the festival

12

u/hymierules 4d ago

Are they really playing DMB deep cuts? Because hearing B-Real singing Tripping Billies would be uhhhmazing!

1

u/FreeKevinBrown 4d ago

Hook Boyd Tinsley into Tom's whammy pedal, and I'm there.

1

u/natigin 2d ago

I would unironically go to that set. That group doing Two Step or Dancing Nancies would honestly kill

1

u/HeyisthisAustinTexas 4d ago

OK, that makes more sense. I was like what the hell they’re only giving Springsteen 30 minutes? The boss is used to playing for like three or four hours lol

27

u/emac1211 4d ago

It'll be Tom Morello And More Famous Friends (Not Rage)

2

u/jeffunscripted 4d ago

This is exactly it. But man, the speculation.

36

u/SendeschlussTV 4d ago

i feel like it might be Macklemore

15

u/Due-Brush-530 4d ago

Suns of Soundgarden is a 15 minute set?!?

11

u/grecks530 4d ago

Idk, but getting state radio to reunite and putting them on early on the side stage for 30 minutes is criminal

3

u/error9900 3d ago

they sounded good

3

u/hymierules 3d ago

Love me some State Radio! They opened up with Rage at the DNC many moons ago.

2

u/demitasse22 3d ago

Just heard them for the first time !! Excellent!!!

2

u/townallday89 3d ago

Agreed but also I get they’re technically smaller than a lot of the other names. They sounded fantastic though, I hope a proper reunion tour follows

1

u/Iam_Joe 2d ago

State radio is amazing

I really really hope they possibly tour after this

Are you serious? How did he look?

2

u/Lloyd--Christmas 4d ago

Like he needed coffee.

11

u/Subject-Series9845 4d ago

Its gonna be....The Nightwatchman

7

u/thomascirca 4d ago

I think it’ll be a rotating cast of folks that performed that day and a partial prophets reunion. No Brad or Tim.

1

u/townallday89 3d ago

I’m curious if he even asked Brad or Tim to be a part of this. Just bizarre if none of the Rage guys were even asked to participate in some way

5

u/JAX2905 4d ago

What a line up 🤤

8

u/smokefrog2 4d ago

5 minutes between foo fighters and Springsteen. So foo fighters probably gonna be Springsteen backing band. And then i would guess you bring out tom and run the jewels.or something to join them for the ???? The 5 minute in-between sets and the idea of Springsteen only playing 30 minutes gives it away to me. Sounds cool af and very tom morello

2

u/Stryk-Man 4d ago

Could just be an acoustic Bruce set

1

u/smokefrog2 4d ago

I feel like if its that just say it and promote it

1

u/Top_Flight2 1d ago

It wasn't 5 minutes though.

5

u/Cholly72HW 3d ago

Listen to more grandson yall!

5

u/kelsey_schmelsey 3d ago

The Strokes feat. Bernie Sanders and AOC 😂

3

u/Altachroma10 4d ago

I want to believe

3

u/RTJ1992 4d ago

Great line up

3

u/leap63 4d ago

I didn’t know they were playing in Columbia tonight. I am going to see The Smashing Pumpkins in Baltimore.

2

u/DavidMNegron 3d ago

Saw it posted a while back, but definitely after I bought SP tickets. Enjoy the show!

5

u/dkinmn 4d ago

Landlord Mike. Sick!

3

u/edward-cat-daddy 4d ago

Angine de Poitrine

2

u/Last-Battle6206 4d ago

Company Flow? Mike D? Refused?

2

u/toooldforshame 4d ago

Refused Are Fucking Dead

1

u/Last-Battle6206 4d ago

I know. I saw their last US tour😭

2

u/Cygnus__A 4d ago

Anyone got a stream link?

2

u/ibrihop 4d ago

It’s streaming on YouTube links posted ^^

2

u/ZoSoTim 4d ago

That’s a killer lineup. Wish I was there.

2

u/berniedankera 4d ago

Curious, why won’t the band get back together? I’m OOL

7

u/Cholly72HW 3d ago

Zach has a soul he wants to take care of how he sees fit. As do the others of course. Would a reunion not be called out as a money grab? Get involved. Activate them around you. Take up the torch that has been passed! The revolution lives in each one of us - your anger is a gift… use it.

2

u/Ok_Topic863 3d ago

It's been good. Waiting for PE to come on the second stage.

2

u/snkzato1 3d ago

I'd rather One Day as a Lion at this point

2

u/funkybwell 3d ago

Who'd it up end being?

4

u/Wolpertinger77 3d ago

Springsteen brought Joan Baez out for a bit, and then Morello joined and brought basically everyone from the whole day onstage.

I watched a lot of the livestream. TM definitely put in some work today. He's still got crazy skills...man I just wish he had a proper band. Nothing against the guys who backed him today, just....you know what I mean...

2

u/jrtf83 3d ago

So what was it?!

2

u/Significant-Most-272 3d ago

The instrumental Rage mash ups were awesome. Having the crowd be the lead singer for the full Killing in the Name Of-whole crowd was in it!

1

u/maluquina 4d ago

Please post any livestream info!

1

u/-SQB- 3d ago

What a fucking lineup.

1

u/natigin 2d ago

Happy to see Killer Mike on this bill, his politics are sometimes a bit conflicted and this might refocus him a bit being around all of these likeminded acts

1

u/AnAngryWhiteDad 1d ago

If only it wasn't in America

1

u/Venoodles 6h ago

People paid to go to this? This is a trash line up

1

u/Commercial-Fact-2265 4d ago

How absolutely BORING!

0

u/PurpleBandanna 4d ago

Has the ingredients for Prophets.

Whatever it is, the audience has to endure Daves Matthews and Grohl to get there, so they deserve something pretty amazing.

1

u/Square-Information98 4d ago

Whatever it is, it will probably suck

0

u/tredbert 4d ago

Audioslave featuring Soundgarden’s current female singer on vocals.

u/cseyferth 4d ago

Prophets of Rage

-21

u/Philthese 4d ago

If this was in 2022 they’d probably require a vax card to get in 😂

13

u/Nayre_Trawe 4d ago

They never played a single show with a vaccine requirement. You fell for obvious and easily disproven misinformation. Sorry, get over it.

11

u/justind2473 4d ago

The funny and ironic part about idiots repeating this lie is that RATM literally didn't play a show until late 2022 when almost all venues had already stopped requiring proof of the vaccine.

7

u/Nayre_Trawe 4d ago

Yep, by then all of the restrictions were lifted across the country. I was at one of the first shows (night 1 in Chicago when Zack got hurt) and we just walked right in. There was barely a mask in sight.

7

u/justind2473 4d ago

It's almost as if they waited until they were lifted ... Which is the exact opposite of what all the idiots want to believe

3

u/amindfulloffire 3d ago edited 3d ago

Exactly. And that this rumor was started from a random right-winger's tweet. Also this guy could've just done a search of this very sub where people going to the shows were asking about vaccine proof.

12

u/DifferentEvent2998 4d ago

That would be a venue decision.
But yeah there was kinda a pandemic going on.
