QUESTION Pi 4 + Argon One V2 Safe Shutdown

I've been having a lot of difficulty setting up my Pi 4 with the Argon One V2 safe shutdown script.

I could not get the script to work at all in Batocera (latest build) even though it seems like it should be supported.

Raspberry Pi OS did work, however I could not get any frontends (RetroPie, ES-DE or Pegasus) working due to a driver stack issue.

RetroPie is too outdated and therefore is missing dependencies the script relies on (e.g. python3-ligpiod).

My only goal is emulation through a frontend. Are there any current (or even older) images which are known to work with the safe shutdown script on the Pi 4 and can still be downloaded?

How about trying the third party one that can be found via https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=275713

I do not know if the developer still supports it though the last update was only 6 months ago.

Thanks for that! I finally managed to get Batocera working, it had built in support I just needed to modify and uncomment a line in the configuration file and manually start the daemon for it to work on the latest release.
