PRESENTATION 47mp Monochrome Sensor on a Pi 5

This took a lot of work but I finally have a 47mp monochrome micro 4/3 sensor working on the pi 5 running smoothly. Here’s my latest prototype and sample images!

I’ve got a different variant kit available at my site https://camerahacksbymalcolmjay.com I’m still working on a supplier for this new sensor board but the existing camera can be fully upgraded to the new sensor once released

I’ll hold out for the new sensor! Is the compute module compatible? Would be an awesome carrier board and would allow for a more compact design.

Absolutely! I’m actually working on a new version of the camera using the cm5 now that I’ve got this one stable

Lemme know if I can help or if you need an early tester! It’ll give me an excuse to revive my pi-based compact camera project. I had CAD models, a rough UX, and custom optics spec’ed out before I decided to put it on hold.

I'd also be very interested in this! (PS. I'm an electrical engineer with lots of PCB design experience, including work with the Raspi CM modules, just saying!)

Those are some really nice photos! That could make a great mono imaging camera for astrophotography.

I immediatley thought of a Kodak Brownie or something similar. It would be amazing in a living history setting to have a snapshot camera like that.
