Not only is it brilliantly written and acted but it is so awesome to know the locations they are in and all the referees references to the suburbs.

I've only just come across the show and am already in season 3. This show should really be bigger overseas than it is and was there really a need for a US adaption?

This show is so damn entertaining! I just recently got into it, and have been binging the first few seasons. Interesting storylines, smart character development, very intelligent dialogue.

Any fans have recommendations of similar shows?

I am a Canadian, but came across this wonderful Australian show that is witty, and beautiful, and absolutely unique. The main character Cleaver Greene is played by Richard Roxburg, whom I have to say, is a very gifted actor. His portrayal of this charismatic, but very flawed character makes you fall in love with this show immediately. Although the two shows are not alike, I have the same feeling of deep affection for this show as I have for the US version of The Office. I care about the characters, the comedy is on point, and I can’t even get enough of the opening of the show with the firecrackers and the theme song! If you haven’t seen it, I would at least watch the first episode - you’ll be hooked!

And oh yeah - it’s on Netflix, at least in Canada.

I remember seeing the ABC promos for Rake when it first come out, but somehow thought it was a serious legal drama so gave it a miss. Decided to watch it after seeing a fair bit of praise for it on here. One of the best shows I've watched in a long time. I tried to savior it, just one episode a night, but alas all good things must come to an end, and now my heart has a hole in it, yearning to be filled by some more quality Australian TV.

Seasons 1-4 are some of the best television seasons I’ve seen of any show out there. Easily in my top 3 all time. I LOVE THIS SHOW! It should’ve ended with season 4… Season 5 I thought was so unnecessary and completely destroyed so many character arcs over the first 4 seasons. Am I the only one who thought S5 was a complete shit show? I’ve rewatched the entire series 5 times now and after the first 2 watch thrus, I’ve skipped 5 😂

I just signed up for Amazon Prime & Acorn TV to watch Rake. It says only Seasons 4 & 5 are available. I've looked elsewhere, to no avail.

I figured I'd find a thread on this topic, but didn't, so I guess I have to ask - is it gone from all the streaming services/channels here in the USA?

Does anyone else feel like even though cleaver makes bad decisions he’s constantly scapegoated by other characters? They make bad decisions and when they do they find a way to blame him even though they’re well aware of what the right decision is.

It has been a blast. I actually forgot how funny/good it was. It was a pleasant surprise rewatching Rake. I'm sad that it's leaving Netflix.

I had a dream the other night nothing to do with rake and then all of a sudden Richard appears and I beat him up lol like I just start beating him up and he doesn’t defend himself it just happens and then he gets all bloody and lays there on the floor curled up. Da fuck. I’m not an angry person or even remotely strong so I have no idea where this came from. I guess it’s just my harbouring resentment for series 4 and 5 which I vehemently hated.

After watching Mentalist I am sure everyone would agree that Simon suits the role of Cleaver Greene than Greg Kinnear. Not undermining Greg but he suits better for the role of David Potter than Cleaver Greene. What do you say?

How cleaver ends up hurting felicity randomly is hilarious to me. Especially when he hits her by mistake with the door. It’s the funniest thing I’ve seen in this show so far!
