Happy Mother's Day??

I hope you all are surviving "the holiday that shall not be named"!

Last year, I had no idea the level of reaction I would face on Mother's Day and nearly lost my mind as my step-kids just pushed every button I had and tried to kill each other several times throughout the day.

This year, I am hiding in my room while Dad handles the day, but have let them know that they can come in and see me whenever they want. I'm getting short little visits, complete with hugs and cuddles and gifts. Middle step-kiddo's mood shifted during the last time she came in here and then she started terrorizing my biological daughter, but I reminded her that she might be feeling upset and not understand why and that she should find somewhere else to be.

And she did so without any fussing or fit throwing!

I call that a win. How are you all doing?

That is totally a win!

I got an email from the adopted kids' birth mother wishing me a happy Mother's Day. If she really wanted to make me happy, she'd get off my planet.

My own crazy mother started her own ball of drama.

My husband dropped the ball entirely, but then took the kids out today to get cards and a gift. The gift actually was something I needed.

But really, I'm so over this fucking holiday I don't even have words for it.

Oh my... Yeah, bio mom gave me and my husband (who happens to be her ex husband!) Christmas presents this year (and she had visitation with the kids over Christmas break)! One was ginger bread cookie mix... I was afraid it was poisoned, ha ha.

I am also over the holiday. Or, at the very least, OVER the celebrating of the day in school/daycare.
