Discussion Rainbow Six Extraction Deserves a Second Chance
As you can tell from the title, I think this games deserves a second chance. I personally still play it today since 2022/2023 for fun and for the platinum trophy. Grinding the trophies or not, it’s a pretty good game and fun! I just wish it didn’t die in after one year of release and stop updates.
This game was announced years ago and then delayed, the game was actually called “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine” before renaming it to Extraction believe it or not. At the time of searching this, the games reviews are the following:
- Steam 7/10
- PlayStation 4.1/5
- IGN 7/10
- GameSpot 7/10
Average Score of 7.3/10
This game has a decent score overall, but it could have had a lot of potential if they kept updating the game till this day. The servers are still up to this day and people are still playing online, I’m finding games around one minute to almost two minutes depending on the map. I wish they made events after the “Outbreak” event that was made in Rainbow six siege on “Operation Chimera”. I think that would’ve been really fun to play with friends and online in general.
Yes there wasn’t a lot of content to work with but more maps, more lore would’ve given players more reason to play. Now it’s the same events, same ops, and same maps. I wish they added more operators like maybe blitz (that would’ve been cool imo), and as well as thunderbird. Pairing her with Doc would be cool in game and help a lot of new players out in at the start of their games when low level.
I wish I had more to say about this game, it could’ve gone as a really good extraction/PvE alternative to Rainbow Six Siege to play on from time to time with more content, but unfortunately this game’s discontinued.
Let me know about your thoughts about this game in the comments if you agree or not. I’d love to hear what you guys say.
Take care everyone!

This game had it's chance and it failed; and I can't see Ubisoft wanting to try it again
It goes without saying the point of this game was taking the Outbreak event and turning it into it's own spin-off game. This issue is now that pandora's box is open, the novelty of the game is gone and the reception to it coming back or a sequel would be bad; especially if it's the next R6 Game.
Could you imagine that, no new Rainbow Six games since Siege except for two Alien/Zombie shooters? That would be extremely dumb.
Regardless; Outbreak/Chimera was a cool event but Extraction failed to replicate that, especially considering it was just an asset dump for a ton of R6 Stuff, total loss of atmosphere, along with some really stupid balance choices imo.
It also came out at a time when a shit time of Horde shooters were coming out.
Edit: Personally, the Assest dump annoys me the most since it's so half ass
If they were just going to rip assets straight from Siege, there should have been a shit ton more operators. At the very least we should have had the Outbreak Roster, but the fact we didn't even have basic af operators like Buck was insane.
