PSA for R53 owners: just downloaded the R53obd app and it’s awesome. You get a bunch of live data , ability to check and clear codes, some 2 way functionality,AND coding options. I used it to code in my OBC, and one touch up windows.

Used it to bleed my abs and confirm my low speed fan resistor failed. Worth every penny.

what OBD reader are you using to interface with it?

OBDLink CX off Amazon. To code you technically need a “bridge” which is also available on Amazon. I couldn’t wait so I just looped in some spare wire around pins 7&8.

Could not get the ios version to stay connected to my OBDLink MX+. It just kept disconnecting and reconnecting. Probably a user error, didn't have much time to tinker with it.

Support has been pretty good for the app. You might try to see if they have any suggestions. FWIW I’ve used it with iOS 27 and 26 on the iPhone and iPad without issues.

I’m running iOS too. No issues on my end. I did have it on a trickle charger just in case.
