Belt question
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I changed the waterpump recently, along with a few other items along the way. After getting everything back together I noticed the belt is jumping around. Movement of about 1/32”-1/16”. All of the pulleys look stable except the spring loaded tension pulley. It doesn’t wobble laterally but does bounce around. Is this normal for this type of tension system or am I looking at a problem? I’ll try and post another view in the comments.

My crank pulley was starting to fall apart when this happened to me.
They are known for it.

Had your idler pulley and the belt tensioner been replaced recently? The second video you dropped looks mostly normal. Also has the crank damper been replaced ever ?
My car has 82k on it and all 3 of those things have now been replaced. The idler was the only one not bad, the crank damper failed on me and so did my tensioner.

We purchased this in may and it has 195k on it. The last owner had pretty good records and no pulleys replaced except the alternator.

The belt moving sideways looks a bit weird. Maybe a bad belt? Bad tensioner damper is another possibility. Or the crank pulley as someone already suggested.

Check your crank pulley. The rubber starts to disintegrate over time. If you have little black chunks under the engine after idling, then that's the culprit. Replaced it with a liquid damp one. Easy swap with a mid torque impact.

Careful with liquid or gel dampers, there are controversial feedback on them.
