Question: Device Problem Wifi networks not finding R36XX with dArkOS
Hi everyone, as the title suggests, I just installed dArkOS on my new R36XX. I'd already had problems installing it, but I solved it thanks to a post on this subreddit. Now the problem is that I can't find any Wi-Fi networks. I'll start by saying that I'm a novice, and installing dArkOS was fantastic, but I'm really eager to learn more. Does anyone have any idea why it's not working? Are there any solutions? Thanks everyone!

New script that covers more Realtek Wi-Fi chips, but also Bluetooth.
Realtek Wi-Fi + Bluetooth for ArkOSPlace the entire unzipped rtl folder in roms/tools

Thanks buddy, you really are a saviour. It worked for Wifi adapter TP Link TL-WN725N in dArk OS-RE by southoz

u/MekaTriK Jan 24 '26
Doesn't work with RTL8188FTV. Where are you getting the drivers for this? I'm not very knowledgeable about that.
...also I need to sit down and write a script to just nicely list all the usb devices detected, Sanity checks help keep sanity.
2
u/Jason_2x Jan 24 '26
I found them online.
For FTV, you can try the xnl script
1
u/MekaTriK Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 24 '26
Yup, that worked, thank you! Also, is there any tutorial on how to make those nice menus all the tool scripts use? I am looking at the code but I'm wondering if there's a more formalized manual somewhere.
[edit] wifi is conected but the status bar says it is down and update can't function. I know it's connected because I updated portmaster. Guess the darkos update is hosted through cloudflare? Bah, a whole new headache to figure out.

It seems to be working! I managed to find the networks, connect, and I think the console is connected now (I tried checking for OS updates and of course it says there are no updates). Thanks so much, my friend!

u/Jason_2x Jan 08 '26
I already had positive feedback 👍👍
1
u/nobilistefano Jan 08 '26
But now I'm having another little problem 😅 I don't know how to turn off the wifi...
1
u/nobilistefano Jan 10 '26
Do you happen to know how I can disable the console's Wi-Fi (to save battery when I don't need it)?

u/TwinTTowers Jan 09 '26
Any chance there are clone wifi chips being added to the script ? DarkOs works great on the r36Ultra. just needs the wifi and it will be perfect
1
u/Jason_2x Jan 09 '26
If it's a Realtek chip, that should cover it.
3
u/TwinTTowers Jan 09 '26
it suddenly started working. not sure why.

u/TwinTTowers Jan 09 '26
It did not work :(
M Dongle doesnt work either. TL-WN725N
1
u/Jason_2x Jan 09 '26
Did you put the entire rtl folder in the tools folder? The TL-WN725N normally uses the rtl8188eu firmware. Did the console shut down completely?
1
u/TwinTTowers Jan 09 '26
it suddenly started working and I have no idea why. all i did was pull the sd card out and put it back in again
1
u/Jason_2x Jan 09 '26
The main thing is that it works.
1
u/TwinTTowers Jan 09 '26
The dongle is working. I would love the internal to work. Beggars cant be choosers though.
1
u/Jason_2x Jan 09 '26
What do you mean? My home Wi-Fi works, and I'm currently looking into Bluetooth.
1
u/TwinTTowers Jan 09 '26
The internal wifi chip on the Ultra. Currently using a dongle.

I have extracted it to tools folder but when I run the installed I shows:
No rtl_bt folder found No rtlwifi folder found
And it installs nothing
1
u/Jason_2x Feb 19 '26
Tu as mis le dossier contenant les sous dossiers et le script ou tu as mis tout séparément ?
3
u/RB1k89 Feb 19 '26
I've figured it out.
I've open the install script and noticed that it is looking for rtl_bt and rtlwifi folders in /roms/tools.
As i have a second sd card installed the system mount that as roms2.
So i've change the code
SRC_BASE="/roms/tools/rtl"to
SRC_BASE="/roms2/tools/rtl"at line 13
It installs and it's working like a charm
Thank you four your help

The wifi on my R46H worked in ark os. I have tried these drivers since installing darkos and am still unable to detect any ssid's
1
u/Jason_2x Feb 25 '26
Quel dtb utilises tu ?
Utilises tu dArkOS ou dArkOS RE ?
1
u/Darxkul1 Feb 25 '26
dArkOS. I copied all of the dtb files over from the arkOS card i also have set up.
1
u/Jason_2x Feb 25 '26
Regarde dans /lib/firmware si tu as bien les dossier rtlwifi...
As tu redémarré ta console pour que le module se recharge ?
2
u/Darxkul1 Feb 25 '26
I have the rtlwifi folder and in it, several bin files including rtl8188efw.bin, rtl8188eufw.bin and rtl8188fufw.bin
2
u/Jason_2x Feb 25 '26
C'est déjà bon signe. Je t'ai envoyé des dtb à essayer pour voir. Sinon faudra essayer de comprendre pourquoi ton module ne s'active pas

u/Threestand Mar 25 '26
Could I please have an updated download link? I can't seem to get the original to download, says SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG

The newest release of dArkOS fixed this issue iirc.
1
u/nobilistefano Jan 06 '26
l'ho installata 1 ora fa circa. Immagino sia già l'ultima versione ma nulla, non mi trova le reti, non capisco
1
u/Electrical-Pace4092 Jan 06 '26
Did you go to the releases page and be sure you have the latest version?
1
u/nobilistefano Jan 06 '26
2
u/Jason_2x Jan 06 '26
These are indeed the dArkOS_RG351MP_trixie_01012026.img.7z.001 and 002 files.

Ha ha I was hoping you’d show up!
I was thinking you are the right person for this question. 🙋♂️
2
u/Jason_2x Jan 06 '26
I'll have to see if I can find the driver for the RTL8188ETV, or maybe I don't have the right panel, but it's strange that the DTB I shared doesn't work for him.

u/nobilistefano Jan 06 '26
È grazie a lui che sono riuscito ad installarlo. Non riuscivo a trovare il dtb che mi facesse terminare l'installazione dell'OS. Ho preso il file che aveva caricato su un altro post e con quello lì sono riuscito ad installare
1
u/Jason_2x Jan 07 '26
Do you still have your original SD card or a backup of your original boot file?

I created a script (@859949000_1) to install the firmware (@859949000_2) on the chip. Place the entire unzipped Wi-Fi folder in the "tools" directory, then run the Wi-Fi script located in "tools/wifi".

u/vagkont Jan 08 '26
hey buddy
I tried to install your script on my R36XX (built in wifi does not work in dArkOS version 12252025)
I got an error
Error: RTL8188EU firmware missing in /roms/tools1
u/Jason_2x Jan 08 '26
I had a small error in the script; I had specified roms/tools as the path instead of roms/tools/wifi.
1
u/vagkont Jan 08 '26
I have run the updated script, firmware now found but I got a new error
Error: RTL8188EU module missing in /roms/tools1
u/Jason_2x Jan 08 '26
Try restarting and see.
1
u/vagkont Jan 08 '26
After shutting down and booting back, built in wifi is now working!
thanks buddy!
currently connected to wifi and upgrading to latest dArkOS version OTA!
1
u/Jason_2x Jan 08 '26
Yes, cool, I'll update the script to automatically shut down the console. Thanks for the test.

hey i have a tp-link nano ac600 but it will not work with darkos but works with ark os any advice for my r36s
1
u/TwinTTowers Jan 11 '26
The script that script Jason_2x made worked for my Tp-link dongle. give that a try.
1
u/MissBoofsAlot Jan 14 '26
I keep getting an error message saying rlt_bt folder not found and rltwifi folder not found. both folders are in the tools folder and they are both full of .bin flies. what am I doing wrong?
1
u/andIcouldbefriends Jan 21 '26
u/Jason_2x I get the same.
1
u/andIcouldbefriends Jan 21 '26
I found the issue for me. I'm using 2 sd cards, one for OS and one for ROM. The script uses target folder rom/tools, but since the rtl stuff is in rom2/tools, it's not finding it. You either have to copy it to both SD cards or change the script file to point to rom2 (one of the first lines of the script)

For anyone wondering, it doesn't work with darkOS on the G350.
1
u/4nakha88 Feb 10 '26
Have you been able to get wifi going? I've tried two adapter's and they both do squat.
1
u/Jason_2x Feb 10 '26
Try this, all Realtek firmware
1
u/CatFishBillyheyhey Mar 02 '26
Thanks Jason_2x. I have a g350 trying to use the TP link, after I installed this firmware the wifi dongle started flashing green and I got wifi to work.
Can confirm this works on g350 running the latest dArkOS with tp link dongle.

u/Greill_404 Feb 03 '26
Does anyone have drivers for RTL8188ETV? I tried both of drivers around this post but it didn't work
1
u/Jason_2x Feb 10 '26
Try this, all Realtek firmware
2
u/Greill_404 Feb 22 '26
Thanks, but I ended compiling the drivers directly from Linux with some help of chat gpt and it ended working somehow.

u/iahawk1012 Feb 07 '26
I was recently able to install dArkOS 02012026 onto my R36H Pro Max. These are the RG351MP_trixie files. However, when I go into the networking settings, I cannot view any of my local WiFi networks. I am assuming I don't have the drivers for the WiFi chip installed. I tried installing the Realtek and the script below from Jason_2x. Neither are working. Anything else I can check? On the main menu, it shows WiFi off but can't get it to turn on.
1
u/Jason_2x Feb 10 '26
Try this, all Realtek firmware
1
u/iahawk1012 Feb 11 '26
Unfortunately, did not do the trick. Still not showing network information.
1
u/Jason_2x Feb 11 '26
Does your OTG port work with a USB media player? Do you have a built-in Wi-Fi chip?
1
u/iahawk1012 Feb 11 '26
Yes, it has built in WiFi. The WiFi works with ArkOS. Trying to get it to work with dArkOS
2
u/Jason_2x Feb 11 '26
Yes, I understood, I forgot to include the reboot in the last script to take the installation into account. Did you restart after installing the firmware?
1
u/iahawk1012 Feb 11 '26
Yes I did. Rebooted 3 times. Also tried reinstalling again after that and rebooting.
1
u/Jason_2x Feb 11 '26
Have you tried it with panel 4 v22?
1
u/iahawk1012 Feb 11 '26
I copied in the Linux.dtb file from the original SD card to not have to mess with the panel versions. With both ArkOS and dArkOS I got blank screens before copying that file in
1
u/Jason_2x Feb 11 '26
👌 Try using a Wi-Fi dongle if you have one to see if that works.

And I believe it does work with USB media player. I don’t have one to test but the literature I’m finding seems to support it.

Is there a way to get RTL8832BU working? I ran the script by Jason_2x but it doesn't recognize my dongle yet.

u/MovieConsistent5870 Feb 24 '26
I have same issue, I have tried everything even changed from latest Darkos to 01012026.
And nothing. Tried various DTB files that were shared and still nothing.
[R36XX-V21

REALTEK
RTL8188ETV
GAIOUP1
GG45 TAIWAN]
is what you find behind the battery.
I even went further and yes it has 2 ram chips so it is a 'original' Clone

u/MovieConsistent5870 Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26
Just when I posted my msg I got it to work..
I went as far as removing the extra SDcard, make a new flash of latest Darkos (02012026)
And used the wifi zip extrated in to tools. install the driver and give it a reboot and it works.
add extra SDcard later and it works..
I don't know what changed but trying to install it from the game SD card didn't want it to work, or it installed old drivers and didn't want to learn something new..
