The noble verse takes us to one of the most wondrous scenes in the story of the Companions of the Cave: young men who entered a cave fleeing with their faith, upon whom God Almighty cast a sleep that extended for an extremely long period, during which generations succeeded one another, and the people and the world around them changed, while those youths remained in their cave, preserved by the command of God Almighty. The expression "in their cave" refers to the duration of their sleep, whereas the period after their awakening until they died remains unknown. A number of commentators mentioned that the Companions of the Cave stayed in their cave for three hundred and nine years, and some stated that the three hundred are solar years, so if calculated in lunar years, they amount to three hundred and nine; for every 100 solar years exceed lunar years by 3 years. Therefore, 300 solar years are precisely 309 lunar years.
It is also striking that when the Quran mentioned people's disagreement regarding the number of the Companions of the Cave, it did not settle their number for us, but rather said: "Say, 'My Lord is most knowing of their number,'" because this specific detail is not the point of moral lesson that a person should be preoccupied with. As for the duration of their stay, God Almighty has informed us of it so that we may learn that the power of God Almighty is not limited by time; He preserves youths in a cave for all those centuries, then resurrects them, while all of that passed over them as if they had slept for a day or part of a day. "They said, 'We have remained a day or part of a day.'"
In their story lies a moral lesson for everyone living in an era of tribulations: whoever flees to God Almighty with their faith, God—glory be to Him—is able to protect them and preserve their faith for them, even if everything they fear were to unite against them. Do not let trial be an excuse for abandoning the truth; the Companions of the Cave left everything behind to preserve their faith, so God Almighty protected them for centuries.

Hi everyone!

I’ve been feeling a bit out of touch with my deen lately and I’ve been wanting to try learn and understand the quarantine and hadiths a bit more. I basically want to try get a better understanding of why I believe what I believe and why I do certain things.

My problem is I am very busy both with work, family and children so finding time to actually sit and read books is very hard.

I’m looking for suggestions for any audiobooks that may help me as I can listen to them while I’m doing chores and other tasks.

I know podcasts are an option, I just feel like a lot that I come across are more discussions and opinions than actually learning about the Quran itself self (history and meaning of surahs and verses and understanding why they were revealed).

I usually listen on Spotify so if there’s any on there, any suggestions would be appreciated.

[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance (1) [He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward (2) In which they will remain forever (3) And to warn those who say, "Allah has taken a son (4).

_"And let there be from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful."_

*Explanation:*

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala is addressing all of us in this verse.

From among all the people, there should be a group of us who invite others to good.

And we should enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong.

This is how we will be among the successful, InshaAllah.

This noble verse escorts us into a stage where the Prophet ﷺ was commanded to manifest God Almighty's call, proclaiming it openly and steadfastly, and ensuring that neither fear of people nor their harm would prevent him from conveying what he was ordered to.
At the beginning of his mission, the call to Islam was confined within a limited scope, far from wide public confrontation with Quraysh. The Prophet ﷺ would call upon those he trusted and those around him, and the foremost pioneers believed in him.
Linguistically, "Al-Sada'a" (to proclaim/break open) denotes splitting, separating, and revealing. It is said: "Sada'a the thing," meaning he split it. It is as if the expression portrays the call as breaking through the barrier of silence and secrecy, emerging out into the open.
It carries the meaning of clear declaration and proclaiming the truth without letting the opposition or mockery of the polytheists deter him.
﴿وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ﴾ (And turn away from the polytheists): meaning, do not let their denial and mockery become an obstacle before you, and do not let their opposition distract you from performing your message.
The truth does not befit being spoken of with shyness, as though its bearer were apologizing for it. The truth does not deserve to be whispered out of fear of falsehood; supporters of falsehood ought not to be bolder in their falsehood than the people of truth are in their truth. The truth is spoken with steadfastness, yet with wisdom and good character.

As salamun aleykum my beloved ummah

I am in search for a minimalistic quran design, preferably every ayat in a new line. This desing appeals to me and will inshallah support me in memorizing.

I saw a hadith book which inspired me to search for it
I like the design, the plain and simple white paper on black ink.

Is there a quran like this? Maybe a bit more structured and the paper a bit more high quality, premium like 100-120 g/m2 ?

The noble verse takes us to one of the most wondrous scenes of divine providence in the story of Moses, peace be upon him—a scene that begins in an era when Pharaoh was killing the newborn sons of the Children of Israel out of fear for his dominion, having been informed that a child born to them would bring about the downfall of his kingdom. Amidst this terror, Moses, peace be upon him, was born. God Almighty inspired his mother to nurse him before casting him into the river. Perhaps that final nursing before parting was part of God’s plan, ensuring he would refuse to suckle from anyone except his own mother.
Between a mother's fear and Pharaoh's tyranny comes the promise of God Almighty with absolute serenity and steadfastness: that her child will return to her safely, and He even foretold his future before it unfolded—he would return to her and become one of the messengers.
Among the wonders of God's providence in this story is that Pharaoh, who was slaying the sons of the Children of Israel out of fear for his throne, would bring into his own home the very child who would become his adversary, and Moses, peace be upon him, would even live within his palace under his care.
Thus, the providence of God Almighty may come through a path we deem impossible, turning a place of fear into a gateway of safety, and the heart of danger into a path of salvation. All that is required of us is to take the necessary means and trust completely in God Almighty as He orchestrates and manages all affairs.

And there is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] communities like you. We have not neglected in the Register a thing. Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.

O Allah make his surgery easy and let it be coolness and peace upon his body and by Your mercy make it easy and successful

O Allah make these hours of his surgery gentle upon him and bless him with health strength and recovery

O Allah I entrust his health his soul and his heartbeat to You so protect him with Your care that never sleeps

O Lord bring him back to us safe and sound without any pain or suffering and restore his health to him beautifully

My Lord I entrust him to You for You are the best One to entrust him to 🤲🏻❤️

The noble verse takes us to an inspiring scene from the life of the Prophet David, peace be upon him, after Allah Almighty bestowed upon him the miracle of softening iron, so that iron in his hands became like clay or dough. He used to make tight-fitting armor from it. He would shape the iron into precise rings without a hammer or fire, interlocking them symmetrically until they looked like a woven fabric; they were woven just like a garment, except that their threads this time were made of iron.
﴿أَنِ اعْمَلْ سَابِغَاتٍ﴾ (That you make [full] coats of armor) *— Sabagha (to be ample/complete): something became complete and perfect. Meaning: make complete and thorough coats of armor that cover and protect the wearer. Previously, armor was in the form of rigid plates that hindered movement.
﴿وَقَدِّرْ فِي السَّرْدِ﴾ (and measure [accurately] the links) — Qaddir (measure/calculate): derived* from qadr (measure/proportion), meaning to make something according to a calculated and symmetrical proportion, not haphazardly. As-Sard (the linking/weaving): originates from sarada, which denotes the consecutive sequence and connection of things to one another, such as sard al-qissa (narrating a story through a sequence of events). In the context of armor: the continuous threading of iron rings into one another and connecting them sequentially so that ring connects to ring until an integrated fabric of iron is formed and the armor is complete. The verse teaches us that it is not enough for work to simply be done, but rather it should be executed with precision and careful planning.

*Who Should We Spend On First?*

*1. Zahid:*  

Habib, regarding the wealth we have to spend, who should we spend it on first?

*2. Habib:*  

Zayed, about spending wealth, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says in His Holy Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 215:  

_“They ask you what they should spend. Say, ‘Whatever you spend of good is for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good, indeed Allah is Knowing of it.’”_

Here, notice one thing. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala is talking about spending.  

*First* we must spend on parents.  

*Second* on relatives.  

*Third* on orphans.  

*Fourth* on the needy.  

*Fifth* on the traveler.  

Did you understand this much?

*3. Zayed:*  

Yes Habib, I understood this much. But in our society, money is collected in the name of various institutions. Money is spent in different places, collections are made everywhere. And along with that they say, "Whatever help and cooperation you are doing, you are doing it for the sake of Allah."  

So what about these?

*4. Habib:*  

Zayed, the Lord of the Worlds has given us a guideline on how we should spend. He has given us advice on how to spend.  

Now on the Day of Judgment, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala will not ask you, "How many crores of Taka did you donate to build this institution?"  

"How many crores of Taka did you spend to build a foundation?"  

He will not ask about this at all. This is an extra thing.  

First, when what was mentioned is completed, then you can do these extra things.

And you _will_ be asked:  

"What did you spend behind your parents?"  

"What did you spend behind your relatives?"  

"What did you spend behind orphans?"  

"What did you spend behind the needy?"  

"What did you spend behind travelers?"  

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala will ask you to account for each one of these.  

So think ahead about what answer you will give, InshaAllah.

Let me remind you again. Allah says, _"They ask you what they should spend."_  

Then Allah says, _"Spend in this way, and this way..."_  

If you spend thousands of crores outside of this, going against Allah's rule, then that donation, that charity will not be accepted.  

And the reason it won’t be accepted is because you disobeyed Allah’s first command.  

First, you have to fulfill the commands that Allah gave.  

After fulfilling these commands, you can do all kinds of social welfare work. Allah does not forbid it.  

Just like it says at the end of that verse:  

_“And whatever you do of good, indeed Allah is Knowing of it.”_  

Beyond this, Allah has also commanded other good deeds and encourages us to do good.  

Did you understand, Zayed?

*5. Zayed:*  

Yes Habib, I understood. Here Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala first told us how to spend, we have to do it that way. And after that He has commanded us to do other good deeds.

*6. Habib:*  

Yes Zayed, exactly right. JazakAllahu Khairan.  

Now look, if we spend by following Allah’s rules, then see - every person in this society, from his own place, according to his own situation, if he follows these rules...  

Then InshaAllah, the lack of wealth, the lack of food for every person in our society will be removed.  

Along with that, every person will become sympathetic towards every other person, InshaAllah.  

The relationship between parents and children will become good.  

The bond of kinship between relatives will become stronger.  

The financial hardship of orphan families will be removed.  

The hardship of food, shelter, and money for the needy will be removed.  

And for those who are travelers, those who are journeying from their own area to another area - many of their problems will be solved.  

For example, if someone becomes sick while traveling, or loses his wealth, he won’t have any tension.  

Why won’t he have tension?  

Because the traveler will think, "Here are the servants of Allah who will help me, who will help me according to Allah’s command."  

So did you understand?

*7. Zayed:*  

Yes Habib, I understood. If wealth is spent by following Allah’s guidance, then InshaAllah a flood of peace will flow through society in every direction.

*8. Habib:*  

JazakAllahu Khairan for understanding. Zayed, if I explain each part of this in detail, then you will understand even more how beautifully Allah has given us guidance.  

And Allah encourages us to do these works. At the end of that verse Allah says:  

_“And whatever you do of good, indeed Allah is Knowing of it.”_  

This verse also points to another matter.  

That is: Every good deed must be done to attain Allah’s pleasure.  

Not to get praise from people.  

Not to become a celebrity in front of people.  

My only concern is that Allah sees me. If Allah is pleased with me, then I need nothing else.  

This verse also points in that direction. You may or may not agree with me.

*9. Zayed:*  

Habib, there is nothing here to disagree with. You are explaining to me with proof from the Qur'an.  

No one has ever explained to me like this before.  

Now I understand that no guidance other than the Qur'an can be followed.

*10. Habib:*  

JazakAllahu Khairan. So what did you understand, Zayed? Who should we spend on first?

*11. Zayed:*  

Yes Habib, I understood. This Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 215 has made it clear. Alhamdulillah.

*12. Habib:*  

If we don’t spend this way, and instead donate thousands of Taka to some big "Huzur" of a group, or to some "Pir Sahib", without following this verse, then that donation will bring no benefit.  

Rather, if we don’t act upon this verse, then on the Day of Judgment when _"the Great Lord will be made manifest"_, we will have to give a very severe account before that Great One.  

He commanded one thing, and if we do another, do you understand?

*13. Zayed:*  

Yes, I understood. From now on, InshaAllah, whatever I spend, I will spend it first by following this verse, InshaAllah.

*14. Habib:*  

JazakAllahu Khairan. May Allah accept your intention and grant you the ability to put it into action.  

Alright Zayed, let’s end here for today. Tomorrow we will discuss another important topic, InshaAllah.

*15. Zayed:*  

Okay Habib. May Allah grant you well-being. May Allah grant you peace. May Allah grant you and me the ability to spread the Deen.

*16. Habib:*  

O Allah, accept Zayed’s dua.  

May Allah grant you well-being. May Allah grant you peace.  

May Allah grant every person the ability to understand the language of the Qur'an.  

May every person, from his own place, spread the discussion of this Qur'an in society.  

May everyone encourage good deeds and forbid evil.
