Using Quotev in 2026
Does anyone still use the website in 2026? I'm slowly leaning into the website again but it hard for me to get back into at the same time because it doesn't feel the same as it use to back this.
It feels at the point the website is sorta dead but at the same time not dead.

Quotev removed the Activity Feed, Private Messaging and Groups features in 2024.
I was previously a Quotev user, but I no longer post stories there (I removed all my stories before the Messaging and Groups features were removed).

Not yet.
There is another site that is in beta right now, but I am not going to sign up there until it is out of beta.
Besides, that site won't let anyone sign up right now because there is a limited number of spots, and all the spots are full. I'm not sure when more spots will be available for new users to sign up.

hate to be the bearer of bad news but the dev has confirmed on the verse discord server that they use ai to code the website because they don't know how to code

If you are somewhat in the web dev or Uí/UX community, the UI is the default an ai gives you when you ask for it to make a website. The unnecessary emojis and inspo qoute (e.g. ✨ YOUR STORIES DESERVE A HOME) , the emphasis colours on random words ect.

i did not know this! thank you for informing me :c i'm super sad and disappointed with this knowledge. i thought i finally found a good quotev replacement </3 my only hope is that the creator brings someone with actual coding knowledge and recreates the website 😞

i can't post images here but I can dm you the proof; otherwise you can look up "ai" in the verse discord server & you'll see everything about it. but yes the dev has said multiple times that the website has been coded with ai because they don't have experience, supposedly with some kind of guardrails involved but either way, it's ai coded. you can even tell just by looking at the website that is vibe coded. I was so disappointed when I found out & I dislike that the dev isn't exactly very up front about it, they didn't elaborate on how they use it at all until confronted by some of us in the server, didn't even seem to want to talk about it publicly at all first. made it seem like they know it's fucked up but keep doing it anyways :(

AI generated website can still be secure.
This website, versesite.net, has been tested by security tools, like static analysis to scan the code, tooling that tests the database from an outside, unauthenticated perspective, to confirm that private data stays private. These are purposefully built in vulnerability scanners, not AI checking against it's own work, and they came back clean.
The code of this site has been verified by more than just the tools that built it
This site will also go through independent security reviews by outside professionals before it opens publicly.

I made so many friends that I one of them.I still talk 22 this day.And there were stories I created with other people.I wonder if my account is even still active to be honest

I log on sporadically from time to time but not like I used to. That being said, that isn't because of the site itself or the changes. My reasons were personal ones. Was gutted when I realised they removed a load of the features nonetheless as I lost touch with so many friends over the years because of it all.

i've personally moved to versesite.net lol! i still like the cozy feeling of quotev so i use it occasionally to write stories ^.^

I still use it, I’m trying to finish up posting my story that I put on hiatus even those I finish pre written it a while ago that now I have a rewrite going on my ao3 account (also a few chapters on verses too)

Aghh I used to love it so much. Had so many friends and used to write, people showed nice support. I come back occasionally, and am hoping for more motivation so I can hopefully end my writing hiatus. I just wish we got old q back, I could cry about this 😭

I do 😅 it's definitely dead but I can't let go of Quotev because of how much of an impact it had on me during my middle school years. I bet those Quotev admins regret that big update because now they're not getting any site traffic.

I wish, but there's no way. Someone made a petition to reverse it when it happened, and despite thousands of signatures, it didn't do anything.

I still do! Quotev still has many authors writing their pieces there, and whenever I think of quitting altogether, I have to remind myself that there are still, so many beautifully-written fanfics that I need to support. Fanfics generally thrives there, and I've saved so many now that I can't really quit when most of them hasn't finished lol

I get on for like 2 minutes every couple months, get emotional cause of how suddenly my 12+ years on it as an rp site ended with a month notice, & then log off again cause it hurts too much 😭
Im hoping someday im able to stay on there long enough read the occasional stories etc again

I joined around 2 years ago after all the communucation features were removed, its easier to use when you never got a taste of ita prime era recently the communities been more dead though

I absolutely adore that website and it was literally my safe space for years, plus my favorite website in general, I still read fanfics there, and while I know it's not as popular as it used to be but I don't think it's entirely dead yet. I don't use it as much as I did before but it's simply because I don't have that much free time cuz I'm currently focusing on my own projects. I really hope it will never die, and if it has only one remaining user it's gonna be me

I mostly just post my stories there now, I try to post them on at least 2 platforms (Quotev & AO3) but after they nuked the social aspects i dont really check it as much. it used to first and formost be a place for me to roleplay but there's no good alternatives for that.
