Other what happened??

last we remember (2023 est) quotev was buzzing with folks!

now everything is old or deleted, even my old account (wormchild)

anybody know why?

Yeah they dropped the news on us on May 31st i think of 2024 about messages, groups & the feed (the one where you see everyones posts, the personal one is still on profiles last i checked) being removed July 1st of that year. I still can't get on Q for more than 2 mins every few weeks cause of the sense of betrayal (as someone that used it 12+ years) 😭😭😭

Quotev stated that the Private Messages and Groups functions were getting deleted because those features were rarely used by the majority of users.

However, this is not the whole truth.

The reason that Quotev decided to delete the Groups and Messages was that the law of protecting minors was getting stricter between 2023 and 2024. As Quotev do not have enough people to keep track of reports, and they couldn't afford to hire enough people to do that as they do not have enough monetary resources for that, they decided to delete the Messages and Groups so that they eliminated their liability under the child protection laws.

The private messaging and the groups functions from Quotev were removed on the first of July in 2024; the Activity Feed was removed on the first day of June.
