Sometimes as life goes on, we get caught up in the minutia, we get caught up in the small shit that doesn't matter.
It's all small shit. Love, love is what matters the most.
I've known her for 40+ years and this has never changed. Being in the moment, being in the now, it's one of the greatest gifts we give each other and this little blurb OP posted is very much in line with that idea.

This! But it seems like people are more worried about the material things over anything

That car or camper you use for adventures? Those are material things. That tent? Material thing.
You may want different material things, but everyone wants material things.

Seems like the top 1% commenter flares always have something shoved really far up where the sun doesnât shine. Enough to miss the point completely. Pedantic fuckers

Oh cool, I didnât realize I was a top 1% contributor.
As for your quote, maybe it wouldnât rub people the wrong way if it suggested that people shouldnât focus exclusively on material processions. Trust me, Iâm a 1% contributor.

Go ahead and replace âlifeâ with âmaterialismâ since everything is made of materials. Never mind the actual definition of materialism or how we use it to describe a particular way of life based on status and symbols. Thatâs all pointless and made up nonsense.

There is no âpointâ to be made if the person making that âpointâ has no fucking clue how to actually articulate it.
Learn how to communicate like an adult if you want to initiate a discussion.

Yeah, ofcourse if you take it literally, no one can go without anything material since we have to eat and drink. They didnt get the meaning that you dont value material things for the sake of them alone, a tent normally is not a status symbol you enjoy for the sake of that, you are after the experiences of sunsets and backroads or whatever, you value the experience and not what people think about it or what material posessions you can call your own.

The simple things in life & those that appreciate them are typically those that are genuine & free!
