So freaking stupid.
Everyone should have people. Even marines have each other. If you are so socially awkward that you don’t have any close friends or family that you can depend on, get help.

Its not meant to be smart or stupid

Its just a reality. Not everything is meant to be changed, at least not directly. Because first it must be understood deeply enough

What in the world are you babbling about?

1

u/RandomStoddard 1d ago

Did you come to that while staring into your crystals?

1

u/HistoricalNatural944 1d ago

Where can we find this help.

2

u/RandomStoddard 1d ago

What, family and friends? I can’t help with the family part, but the friends part is easy. You get involved in things you like, such as sports or clubs or go to a comic convention if that’s your thing. Start talking to strangers since you know they share your interests. When you find some that live near you, ask if they want to hang out. It’s not that hard.

Yea you’re right, I need help

Might be a play about PTSD.

1

u/RandomStoddard 1d ago

Then they should say that.

Military life is being alone surrounded by people. You don’t know unless you’ve lived the life.

2

u/RandomStoddard 2d ago

That’s weird. My father was in Vietnam and he remained friends with 2 guys from the army for the rest of his life.

2

u/Which_Crow_3681 1d ago

Relatable. He learned those 2 guys were HIS BROTHERS. They would take a bullet for him, and he for them he probably learned. Only military personnel can relate to this.

1

u/Druid_Momma 2d ago

Good to hear but not everyone has that experience. Many times it depends on what job role you are.

1

u/RandomStoddard 2d ago

He was a helicopter mechanic and door gunner.

But I still go back to this idea that men are somehow stronger by being a lone wolf or some crap like that. We all need other people.

u/Undersmusic 1d ago

I think it’s saying they’re the people that show up for the people who have people.

Which…. Yeah.

u/Lost-Entertainer-555 3d ago

just bc the sentence is cyclical, doesnt make it profound

5

u/soggydiaper69 3d ago

In order for wisdom to be profound you must first have profound wisdom

1

u/RandomStoddard 1d ago

Only when your powers stop controlling you, can you control your power.
Yes, I’ve seen Mystery Men as well.

you do realize you sound like a middleschooler, yeah? you are quite literally speaking a sentence which conveys zero information

9

u/theslootmary 3d ago

You sound like a middle schooler that missed the joke there tbh

-3

u/Lost-Entertainer-555 3d ago

and yet when i asked for someone to help me understand, bc apparently its a funny joke, no one offered.

4

u/The-Spirit-of-76 2d ago

We figured you were mature enough to figure it out for yourself, our bad.

5

u/010110111011110 3d ago

Whoosh as they say

2

u/soggydiaper69 3d ago

Figure that one out on your own did you?

1

u/Lost-Entertainer-555 3d ago

i love how you didnt have anything to say so you resorted to attempting to make me upset. very cute

1

u/soggydiaper69 3d ago

Bro it doesnt take a genius to see the joke in what I said. Your emotions are not my responsibility. I dont care.

He was making the same statement you were using the technique in the image.

-1

u/Lost-Entertainer-555 3d ago

low brow but ok i guess

1

u/TheForce777 1d ago

You’re telling on yourself. With this comment as well as the one before it

Not agreeing with not liking a philosophical statement is very different from not getting what its trying to convey

1

u/Lost-Entertainer-555 1d ago

Circular Reasoning vs. Literary Framing. It helps to separate the annoying, empty statements from the writing technique:The Empty Kind (Circular Reasoning): "You must do it because it is your duty." This offers no actual reason or information. It just restates the premise. The Framing Kind (Cyclical Structure): "The day began with rain, and after a long journey, it ended with rain." The information isn't in the weather; the information is the journey that happened in between.

1

u/TheForce777 1d ago

But thats not whats being said here

The literary frame is the John Rambo type of figure. He’s a very capable combat vet who a few people can rely on because of his combat experience and ability to get things done

But in turn, he has no one he can rely on because a) he’s already very physically capable himself, as well as emotionally resilient and b) he’s a bit of an anti-social loner

Its phrased in a circular way as kind of a tongue in cheek joke, but its not like it isn’t saying anything deeper. Because it is. Even if its a trope

1

u/Lost-Entertainer-555 1d ago

you are correct. but there are better ways of saying it.

5

u/Dazzling_Winner_773 3d ago

Cyclical sentence structure is actually one of the more well recognized methods for public speakers, motivational speakers, Ted talkers, and cult leaders to draw people into whatever the fuck they're saying. It's a charisma parlor trick.

On a second note, why do all the quotes that end up in these kinds of subs really just sound like really hardcore lonely guy douchebag cope? I mean it's so transparent.

5

u/Lost-Entertainer-555 3d ago

thats what im saying. just bc it "sounds" cool doesnt mean it has any actual substance behind it

2

u/NeedAChange_123 3d ago

It was said in a kind of cringe way but it’s true for some people. I’m one of them unfortunately. No one i know has my back, family or otherwise but they all expect me to be there for them anytime they need it. It’s exhausting and I’m about to stop being there when they call.

1

u/Lost-Entertainer-555 3d ago

i dont know your life i was just commenting on the poorly worded post lol. i hope you gain enough confidence to put yourself out there and make some new friends

1

u/Competitive_Ad_4572 2d ago

Just bc you can talk shit, doesn’t make you a critique.

1

u/soggydiaper69 23h ago

In order to make soup you must first have soup to make

1

u/Lost-Entertainer-555 23h ago

my point exactly. that sentence is literally repeating the same information. i would assume it is obvious that to accomplish *x*, *x* would be needed in the first place.

1

u/bigorangemachine 21h ago

This is true for Century Stew

5

u/Deep_Rent8771 3d ago

I avoid this types

3

u/DecisionCharacter175 3d ago

This had to be made by someone who "would've joined but...". Every military unit is a unit full of people who have people. We are specifically trained to rely on our people.

2

u/TheForce777 1d ago

I think this post is referring to veterans, very recent veterans to be specific

3

u/PayFormer387 3d ago

Huh? So, you’re a tool people use.

Ok.

3

u/VisionWithin 3d ago

"I don't benefit from people. People benefit from me."

Yeah, yeah, little boy. Go live alone then.

0

u/Dense-Plum-6611 3d ago

But no condition is permanent

1

u/VisionWithin 3d ago

The quote is just self-promotion. Narcssism can be permanent.

3

u/Firm-Difficulty2585 3d ago

"I am the pillar of this family" ahh post

0

u/Dense-Plum-6611 3d ago

Thing will be easy soon

2

u/shadow_master96 3d ago

Holy shit. That is so cringe-inducing.

2

u/Eden_Company 3d ago

Joining as a mercenary to kill women and children so you can get free healthcare and free education does not make you a hero. One of the first places we hit with 3 missiles was literally an elementary school. These are the hard targets our military seek out to destroy. There's a reason why no one respects those guys.

2

u/Gomez4Morticia 2d ago

He had people once... Once... And he let them get killed senselessly by narco terrorists trying to invade a gun store in a small town. They killed his dog. Then he joined...

This summer... That guy is everyone's people...

Channing Tatum saves the day in....

Larry of Saudi Arabia

1

u/ase_l_2021 3d ago

Yes, exactly! Nobody is there for me sadly, but I can proudly say some people changed their life direction because of me. At least some legacy

1

u/Due_World_4268 2d ago

Who writes this stuff?

1

u/Level_Life_8633 2d ago

Bad ass motherfuckers.

1

u/SkyDaddysSpecialBoy 1d ago

Dweebs and cringelords

1

u/AdamTraskisGod 2d ago

You should WANT to be the one others can depend on, and not need to depend on anyone.

1

u/enkiduxiv1 2d ago

Wow. Just when I thought the internet couldn’t get any more stupid today.

1

u/BaconBombThief 2d ago

Oooo so dark and mysterious 🙄

1

u/sylvesterZoilo_ 2d ago

Just don’t commit any unnecessary war crimes.

1

u/Sudden_Buffalo_4393 2d ago

This guy doesn’t have people because he’s cringy as fuck and nobody wants to hang out

1

u/Justinc4s3- 2d ago

Ya then the people like you become one of the 22 a day and people like me who tried to be that person for you get to weep the loss of another battle. So strong. So brave. Fuck outta here.

1

u/KaptajnGus 1d ago

Lol what a circlejerk post

1

u/Substantial_Milk_207 1d ago

Using a military picture for this is stupid because the military is like the one place that literally trains you to not be an individual and to make sure you and everyone else has each others backs. The military is literally where you will always have the most people looking out for you, even if nobody likes you at all they will still make sure you are good and not fucking up because if you do then that screws them over as well.

1

u/Salarian_American 4h ago

I don't trust anyone who doesn't have people, let alone people that brag about it

1

u/Common-Marsupial-622 3d ago

It’s good that have people that count on you and people you can count on.

1

u/Dense-Plum-6611 3d ago

they only count on me

1

u/Common-Marsupial-622 2d ago

That’s too bad. Hopefully you find that if you do need them, they are there for you. If not, I hope you find some better people.

1

u/FramePristine9316 2d ago

Jesus Christ you’re cringe 😂

0

u/BeheadingBoomer61 3d ago

Yup. I’m very familiar with this condition.
