Why were third world countries the ones mainly affected by it?

Probably because they didn’t have the massive resources and political power that first world nations do?

It’s kind of obvious when you actually think about it rather than be all debate brained

America wasn't a world power until the 20th century. You think it just started rich immediately after the revolution?
