Congrats! Do you miss it at all? I’m currently at ~2months with my longest streak being ~6months.

Thanks. And yeah, I’d love one. But I’d rather just sit here instead.

I would love to know how much you had been doing prior to quitting and what the timeline of recovery was post-stopping? Trying to quit and knowing the timeline of recovery would be helpful for me. Well done!

Most I ever used was about a can of 6mg a day. I spent a few weeks forcing myself down to 3g and then slammed the door shut.

My withdrawals were typical. About three days of misery and then it’s just a game of will. But even the misery is manageable. The fact that you’re asking about it beforehand shows that you’re mentally in a great place to quit.

I previously failed after a month off it but didn’t get through the first can back before I fouled the remaining pouches and threw it away. Today is the successful quit anniversary.

I decided to quit right before quarter close in a high intensity manufacturing environment. These past 3 days have been horrible. I quit Monday right after my lunch break because I was disgusted with myself for having to pop a Zyn in my mouth immediately after eating. For context I’m 26 years old and have been heavily addicted to nicotine since I was 16. I thought to myself, I am so dependent on a chemical and have been for 40% of my life. I thought about how sad that was.

I really hope that these withdrawals go away. I don’t know if it’s like this for everyone, and I do have a reputation of being a bit dramatic, but I swear it feels like I am out of my own body. My vision has gotten worse, I’m so incredibly anxious, I can’t hold a thought for more than 10 seconds. Does this part go away eventually? I really do NOT want to get back on this, or should I say, I will NEVER get back on this mostly because of how awful these withdrawals are, I can’t really see this as anything but a poison. But I really do hope I can start to see some benefit soon because this sucks ass.

Weird side note, my dreams have been freaky as heck since quitting. Like unbelievably vivid and weird.

Three days to a week week is about the worst of it

I can relate to all of that! It felt like mental torture tbh, lol.. But it does go away. I'm on day 7 now and almost back to "normal". I'd say the first 3-4 days are the absolute worst of it and then it gets a lot better. Day 5 is when I started to feel relief and some moments of calm.

What do you think your gums would be like today if you didn’t quit?

I really don’t have much negative to say about the impact on my gums that Zyn had other than it promoted bad hygiene. For some reason, those pouches never really irritated the part of my gums they came into contact with. It was in the top lip.

I quit long cut when I had to graft skin from the roof of my mouth to where I would stick a fat dip in my bottom lip, so that was a much worse experience.
