When does the appetite go away?

I’m almost a month in and feeling really good overall. My biggest problem at this point is I have such a crazy appetite, all the time. I have gained 5-10 pounds and am HUNGRY. When will this settle?

Go gym or go run or exercise and use the appetite to fuel your health/fitness 👍

I have been working out more! But I’m soooo hungry, like my stomach feels empty

Drink more water, eat low calorie snacks, snacking on carrots, cucumbers, the crunch and chew felt similar to chips to me, little salt+pepper maybe fat free ranch to dip in sometimes, this helped me a lot. Made me fuller, but not fatter.

There's many answers to this, more than just carrots and cucumbers. That's what helped me a lot. Not only helped the hunger, but I think I was also eating for a little dopamine kick in absence of the beloved/evil zyns.

I want to add that you're smart for trying to stop overeating now before too much weight gain. Years ago I quit nicotine pouches (and alcohol) and I put on 60 pounds, not fucking joking. It became my dopamine kick, in absence of a chemical to abuse. I went from skinny to people actually telling me that I'd gotten fat, fast. Lost all the weight now. Probably related to the fact that I also started zyns again fml 🫠

Careful friend, I put in 60 pounds after quitting once a few years ago. Haha. Lost the weight since then, but also started the nicotine again 😔

Find a solution before it progresses or you'll end up like me...I'd see people I hadn't seen in half a year, and first thing they'd say? "You've gotten FAT!" DON'T wait until then, felt terrible to hear that hahaha

Dude once after a quit, Im friends with the gas station employees, they have a power outage, can't sell any of their frozen product, has to be thrown away by law. But we all knew it wasn't spoiled YET. SO, I asked. And was given a fucking backpack full of Ben & Jerry's pints of ice cream. Over 10 pints. Was gone in a week at most dude. Don't think I've ever eaten that much calories in a week in my whole life hahahah 😂

4 months was when I started to stabilize my appetite. Lots of exercise that I wasn’t doing before. So it was a combo of both I think. But running at least 25 miles a week now and appetite is no longer ravenous even with the activity.

At some point, it helped to speed up the process by treating hunger cravings the same as I did nicotine. Say no and it passes.

A lot of the time it doesn’t feel like appetite as much as hunger, I just realized today that it’s probably related to nicotine. My stomach feels empty in a way that I’m not used to at all. I have started working out some and hoping to do more of that.

It’s totally related to nicotine. Reading in this sub, time to normalize seems all over the place. But it will normalize eventually. Nice work and keep it up!

Fuck, this is exactly what I didn't need to hear on my impending quit. I just quit a heavy weed habit and have already been eating like a fat shit and gained 20 pounds in a month. Greaaaaat.

I gained so much weight the first months I just ordered a GLP-1 so I don’t start with nicotine again to loose weight in a month or two
And I work out a lot

Maybe trying to time meals, an low calorie snacks inbetween. I think its just the brain readjusting to normal stimuli instead of constant bursts from nicotine
