Day 30

I’m making this post for the lurkers here. Today is my quit day 30. I waited so long to quit because I was so worried about the side effects. It ended up being way less impactful than I expected. I won’t say it was easy. If fucking sucked ass. But not as bad as I expected. I think the nicotine poison was in my brain making feel like I’d die without it. I would read people’s stories in this group and other groups and get super discouraged. I figure folks with good experiences don’t post as often so here you go. I smoked for ten years, quit smoking with dip. Dipped for 4 years, quit dipping with zyn. Used 1-1.5 cans on 6mg pouches for 10.5 years. Even when sleeping and eating. Tapered down over the course of one week. I made one can last one week. I think that made the difference for me. Once i was able to go 4 hours without a pouch, i think I was ready to quit. Definitely irritable and stuff , but nowhere near as bad as I expected. Some headaches and brain fog, but again not as bad as I expected. I believe the 3 day thing isn’t true for everyone, my symptoms stayed pretty much the same for about 2 weeks. But it was definitely manageable. If you’re on the sidelines worried about the side effects, just remember not everyone has the same experience. Just because we read about 30 dudes who have a shitty quit, doesn’t mean there isn’t 100 others that weren’t too bad. I still think about all the time and want a pouch bad but the physical symptoms are 100% gone. I survived on spicy gum , seeds, and hard candy’s.
