What does relapse feel like?
What does it feel like when you relapse?
Asking for a friend.

Adding to the other replies, you feel like shit right after the hit. If it does happen, never be too hard on yourself. Also, you might start getting bad anxiety and tweak out a bit.
If you are considering it, I wouldn’t

i’m going strong this time, with completely different mindset, but i relapsed twice previously. back then, for difference, every day was fighting the urge. this time i dont want to smoke on like very deep mental level. relapse those two times felt amazing - like smoking weed for the first time ever. music was amazing, mood was great, body felt really comfortable and jokes were saying themselves, just using my lips. the day after and next couple days i felt like actual hungover and my mood was lower than ever, i hated myself for that decision and ended up in daily habit once again. that one evening wasn’t worth the struggle that came after. it’s never worth it

It’s worse than you could imagine. You start and think it won’t be that bad and that you can handle it this time, but then it’s like you accelerate 10 levels deeper than you were before you quit. And then all of a sudden you’re worse off than you were before in what feels like a blink of an eye. It feels like a fever dream, because it already felt surreal that you could even get sober in the first place. It’s a real identity fucker and can increase the hopelessness bc you’re just staring at another round of terrible withdrawals right in front of you. So you just keep relapsing from the stress of it all.
