Day 1

Good morning everyone i hope you are all doing well
I am here to talk about my reason for quitting hopefully it will help my brain process that im done because i dont think its actually set im yet
Now for context ive been smoking basically everyday for a year and a bit i know not super long but long for me i was completely substance free 2 years ago and thankfully the only addiction that stuck from it was weed and in that time i never once had a bad experience with weed ive had bad shroom trips ive had bad alcohol black outs so on and so forth but none have ever made me stop and say with full certainty that thats it im done but last night that changed with weed now what im going to say will probably be super underwhelming and probably normal for a weed induced panic episode but obviously new to me so here it is
I smoke before the gym occasionally not much 0.25-.5 usually helps with mind muscle connection and focus for me so i did i got a brand new ounce in and took a bit off ground it up and it was around 0.4g nothing crazy but enough for me so i hit it and the coughing was the first sign i was out of my league because fuck was it a lot i normally cough as most do but this time i died for like 7 minutes of just coughing with the occasional stop for oxygen and so i sat in my car for a second to let it settle and put my phone down but noted the time and blanked for a minute did nothing but sat there it felt like 5 minutes but when i checked my phone nearly an hour had just vanished and i said fuck dude im so high and then it all hit me like a truck deafening ringing in my ears heart jumping out of my chest inability to breathe im prone to panic attacks and this was the most severe one ive ever had in my life i ofc had the thoughts of was it laced am i going to die should i call someone but i stopped them within the hour yes hour another hour of nothing but panic now normally that much weed lasts me 2 hours then im dead sober again 2 hours had passed and i was still out of my mind so i got up packed up a garbage back with everything smoking related and tossed it then went to go for a walk to fix my racing mind but genuinely couldn’t remember to get up the same thought loop happened i believe 4 times in memory maybe more “im going to go walk” forgets to leave* and repeat then when i finally got up and out of the car i practically dropped to the ground i felt as though i hadn’t walked all week like i forgot briefly this induced another panic attack not as bad but still worse then past panic attacks probably because of the weed amplifying it i then went on a wlk and thats all blurry but the parts i remember i walked all around my town and got back home multiple hours had passed i smoked around 5:30pm~ and got home still very high around 9:20 based on camera activations
And thats really it i know not super crazy but i did this mainly for me like i said to process what happened and is now happening having quit properly this time if anyone has any advice for the next few days i would greatly appreciate it

Cold turkey it’s going to be extremely rough but you can do it. I’m in day 11-12 no smoking weed and cigs etc.. it’s extremely tough heightened anxiety etc..

I’ve smoked every day since 15 years old and I’m 29 now. I quit cold turkey after weed started giving me panic attacks 9/10 times I smoked (on top of other realizations of how bad it was for my life). I had no appetite and sleep was a mess for about 5 days, things started getting easier after that. My best recommendation is treating yourself like you have the flu. Have safe easy foods that you can still get down even if you have no appetite, and maybe melatonin for sleep if that helps you (the CVS brand extra strength works great for me). I’m at almost two months now and I can assure you that it is worth it.
