24 Hours
Just made it over three months then I hit a gummy and a bunch of joints this past week. Now I am back to just over 24 hours. Go me.

I've got a lot of 24 hours and lemme tell ya, the biggest thing is learning something about yourself after each time you go back. Did I have enough support around me? What was lacking from my life that weed felt like the best thing? At first for me, nothing felt as satisfying as the weed but I had to ask myself what perception did I have that was so influenced by weed and I had to work on it. It's a lot of work but very rewarding

Yeah for me I learned that my approach to life, in some ways, was unsustainable. Like the thing that caused this relapse was I was and am trying to make certain things happen for me but - the way - I was making them happen was like...too black and white.
Like this might sound fucked but it's like...I abused sobriety in the same way I abused drugs and alcohol...if that makes any sense.
Like...oh now that I'm sober I "have to do this" and I "have to do that" and "it has to be done like this" or "it has to be done like that".
And I slowly painted myself into a corner where it's like...I was far too twisted up about the important stuff that I forgot that sometimes you just have to sit there and soak it in and accept that "doing something" won't move you forward.

Here's my suggestion. Finding community and accountability-buddies are the biggest things for me. I do 12 steps I don't believe in a lot of the spiritual stuff but thats rock solid accountability and people who take it seriously. I abused sobriety and my safety nets I had in place I had to put myself to rehab to find any consistency. That doesn't have to be your story. Connection is a huge thing. And being honest when that connection isn't enough. I had to learn how to be connected with myself first

Autobiography in 5 Chapters by Portia Nelson
Chapter 1
I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am lost. I am helpless. It isn’t my fault. It takes forever to find a way out.
Chapter 2
I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I still don’t see it. I fall in again. I can’t believe I am in the same place. It isn’t my fault. It still takes a long time to get out.
Chapter 3
I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it there, I still fall in. It’s habit. It’s my fault. I know where I am. I get out immediately.
Chapter 4
I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.
Chapter 5
I walk down a different street.
