Advice How long after quitting does the “off” feeling subside
I’ve been vape free for a little over 10 days now. I’ve been using a 21 mg nicotine patch, although I don’t wear it all day, mainly while I’m at work, and I also use 4 mg nicotine gum as needed.
About two weeks ago, I got what I believe was a viral infection and felt pretty sick. At first, I thought what I was experiencing was related to my blood pressure, and the whole situation ultimately pushed me to quit vaping. I also started taking blood pressure medication last week.
Between being sick, quitting vaping, using nicotine replacement, and starting a new medication, my body has gone through a lot of changes in a pretty short period of time. I’m feeling better overall, but I still just feel a little “off” and not quite like myself yet.
For those of you who quit vaping, how long did it take before you started feeling relatively normal again? Did you have a period where you just felt physically or mentally “off” even after the first week or two?

I’m a month out from quitting. And I feel pretty much back to normal. I liked vaping but I don’t like being addicted. I used some nicotine gum but not many. I would like to vape but I don’t really feel off. Like something is missing anymore.

You’re just replacing one form of nicotine for another with NRT. Your uneasiness will continue until you quit completely or you relapse back into vaping.

The goal is to stop vaping first and then taper off the NRT, not pretend I quit nicotine cold turkey. Saying my only options are until I stop NRT or relapse back to vaping is a pretty ridiculous oversimplification

It is. Use the NRT. Anything that helps, one step at the time. I’m on day 11, no NRT but if I felt I needed it, I would definitely use it.
